William Welby of Scalford 1739 Will

In the name of God amen I William Welby of Scalford in the County of Leicester yeoman being of sound mind memory and understanding Blessed be God for the same But considering the certainty of Death and the uncertainty of Life do make and Ordaine this my last Will and Testamt in manner & forme following (that is to say)

Imprimis I resigne my soul to God who gave it me

My body I commit to the Earth to be decently buried at the Discrecon of my Extor herein after named and as for my Worldly Estate which it hath pleased God to bestow upon me I give devise and bequeath of the same as followes

Impris I give and devise unto my Grandson William Wilford and to his heires and assignes for ever All my Lands Tenemts & hereditamts lying and being in Scalford in the county of Leicester aforesaid

Item I give & bequeath unto the son of my late Brother Thomas Welby decd Two Shillings & six pence

Item I give and bequeath unto the Daughter of William Gisien [probably Geesing, William Geesing buried Eastwell 31 March 1735] late of Eastwell in the County of Leicester aforesaid yeoman Two shillings & six pence

Item I give and bequeath unto the Children of my late sister Trafe Two Shillings & Six pence apiece

Item All the rest of my Goods & Chattles Cattle & personal Estate whatsoever my debts legacies & funeral expences being first paid & discharged I give & bequeath unto my aforesaid Grandson William Wilford whom I make full & sole Extor of this my last Will & Testament hereby revoking all former Wills & Testamts by me made declaring this to be my last Will & Testamt

In witness whereof I the said William Welby the Testator to this my last Will & Testamt have here unto set my hand & seal this Two & Twentieth day of April 1735
