James Watchorn of Plungar 1870 Will

This is the last Will and Testament of me James Watchorn of Plungar in the County of Leicester Farmer

I give and devise All my Closes pieces or parcels of Land in Statherne in the County of Leicester in my own occupation containing about Twenty three acres more or less And also all my houses or tenements with bakehouse stables gardens and appurtenances in Plungar aforesaid in the occupation of myself and others And other my hereditaments and real estate wheresoever situate Subject to any Mortgages or Incumbrances which may be affecting the same at my decease Unto my Wife Martha Watchorn so long as she shall continue my Widow she keeping down the interest upon the said Mortgages or Incumbrances and keeping the houses and buildings in good repair and insured against fire

And after her death or second marriage I give and devise the same hereditaments and real estate Subject to the Mortgages or Incumbrances thereon and subject to the payment of the sum of Two hundred and fifty Pounds to my Daughter Ann Pell with interest thereon at Four pounds per centum per annum from the day of the death or second marriage of my Wife Unto my Son James Watchorn his heirs and assigns for ever

And I give and bequeath All my goods and furniture plate linen and effects in and about my dwellinghouse Unto my Wife Martha Watchorn absolutely And I give and bequeath All my farming stock live and dead implements of husbandry and tenant right and all the residue of my personal estate and effects whatsoever and wheresoever Subject to the payment of my debts and funeral and testamentary expenses Unto my Wife to long as she shall continue my Widow And after her death or second marriage I give and bequeath the same Unto my Son James Watchorn absolutely

And I appoint my Wife Martha Watchorn and my Son James Watchorn Executrix and Executor of this my Will

And hereby revoking all other Wills by me at any time heretofore made I declare this to be my last Will and Testament this nineteenth day of May One thousand eight hundred and sixty six

Proved at Leicester the twentieth day of May 1870 by the Oaths of Martha Watchorn Widow the Relict of the deceased and James Watchorn Son of the deceased the Executors to whom Administration was granted

The Testator James Watchorn was late of Plungar in the County of Leicester Farmer and died on the seventeenth day of September 1869 at Plungar aforesaid
