Francis Watchorn of Goadby Marwood 1796 Will

This is the Last Will and Testament of me Francis Watchorne of Goadby Marwood in the County of Leicester Mason

First I desire to be buried in a decent manner at the discretion of my Executrix hereinafter named

And as for my Estate which hath pleased God to bless me with I Give and dispose thereof as follows

In the first place I Give and bequeath the free use and Occupation of all my Household Goods other Goods Stock Cattle Chattles Rights Credits Ready Money and Securities for Money And all other my Personal Estate of what sort or kind soever and wheresoever my Debts and Funeral Expences being first paid and discharged Unto my Dear and Loving Wife Mary Watchorne for and during the Term of her Natural Life But my mind and will further is that if my said Wife shall have occasion through Sickness or Infirmity for all or any part of the Sum or Sums of money which I now have out at Interest or the whole or any part of my Household Goods Then and in such Case only it shall and may be Lawful unto and for my said Wife Mary Watchorne and I do hereby direct her to call in the whole or such part of the Moneys or to sell such part of my Household Goods which she may stand in need of during such Sickness or Infirmity

And from and immediately after her decease Then I Give and bequeath all or such part of my said Household Goods Ready Money and Securities for Money and personal Estate which shall happen to be in the possession of my said Wife Mary Watchorne at the time of her death unto my Three Relations Sarah and Ann Palfrey both of Redmile in the said County of Leicester and Elizabeth Bristow of the Borough of Grantham Widow to be equally divided among them Share and Share alike Yet Subject and chargeable with the payment of Forty Shillings which I Give to my Niece Sarah Watchorne of Scalford in the said County of Leicester Spinster to be paid her within twelve Months next after my said Wifes decease

And Lastly I do Nominate Constitute and appoint my said Wife Mary Watchorne full and Sole Executrix of this my Last Will and Testament hereby revoking all other Wills by me at any time heretofore made

In Witness whereof I the said Francis Watchorne the Testator have hereunto set my hand and Seal this Seventeenth day of August in the year of our Lord One thousand seven hundred and Ninety six

Signed sealed published and declared by the said Francis Watchorn the Testator as and for his Last Will and Testament in the presence of us the Witnesses hereunder written who have at his request in his presence and in the presence of each other set our Names as Witnesses to the due Execution and Publication hereof

Let probat be granted to Mary Watchorn the sole Executrix within named she being sworn to the due execution of the Will & also made oath the whole amount of the personal effects of the Testator deceased did not at the time of his death amount to the sum of one hundred pounds
