In the name of god Amen the xxiith day of June in the yere of our Lord god 1602 I Thomas Wait of Plungar in the County of Leicester husbandman Beinge sick in Body but in perfitt minde & memory thanks be to god Do ordeyne & make this my last Will & Testament in manner & forme as followeth

First I geve & bequeth my sole into the hands of allmightie god my creator & my body to be buryed in the Churchyeard of Plungar aforesaid

Ite I geve unto the church of Plungar xiid

Ite I geve unto the poorest people within the said Plungar one strike of Barlie to be delyvered unto them at the feast of Saint Martin Bishop next after my decease

Ite I geve unto my Brother Mathew Wayt my best Coat and one saddle & bridle & one …

Ite I geve unto my Brother Martyn Wayt 4 … … one great Cheist

It I geve unto my brother in Laws three daughters Mary Holt Frances Holt & Ellen Holt on brasse pott the middle most of three equallie amongst them

Ite I geve unto my brother Will Wait one strike of Barly to be delyvered at Saint Marytn Bishopp next after my decease & one strike of pease to be delyvered unto him that tyme twelve months

Ite I geve unto Alic Wayt my mother foure shillings to be payd her quarterly after my decease by vid the quarter yf she lyve so longe

All the rest of my goods not geven & unbequethed moveable & unmoveable my debtes & legacies beinge payed I geve & bequeth unto Alic my wife whom I make my full & whole Executrix

Also my will is that Alic my wife shall have Saint Michaell tharkangell next after her decease to get the Cropp yf … … before her decease and then my will is that Mathew Weyt & Martyn Weyt my brother shall have my lease my house & land for the whole terme of yeres unexpired Equally betwixt them

And unto his my will I have requested & apointed Henry Boase & Robert Challand to be overseers & to give either of them xiid
