In the Name of God Amen I Matthias Unwin of Long Clawson alias Claxton in the County of Leicester Clerk Do this Sixth Day of June & in the year of our Lord one Thousand seven Hundred and Seventy five make this my last Will & Testament in manner and Form following

First I resign my Soul into the Hands of God my Creator & my Body to be Buried according to my Direction

And as to my Personal Estate I give and dispose of the same in Manner & Form following

Imprimis I give to my Grandson John Unwin Pratt Fifty Pounds and my Watch

Item I give to Grandson George Pratt Five pounds

Item I give to my Grand-Daughter Ann Franke Pratt Five pounds

Item I give to my Grandson William Franke Pratt Five pounds

Item I give to my House-keeper Sarah Mailing Five pounds and also One Guinea more to buy Her a Mourning Gown Sarah Mailing’s Legacy to be paid the Day after my Burial

And the Residue and Remainder it hath please God to bless me with I will and bequeath to my Son in Law John Pratt of Leicester Grocer whom I nominate constitute and appoint sole Executor of this my last Will and Testament as Witness my Hand and Seal the Sixth day of June and in the Year of our Lord One Thousand seven Hundred & Seventy Five

On the 21st day of August 1779 John Pratt the sole Executor within named was sworn to the due Execution hereof and at the same time made oath that all the Testator’s personal Estate at the time of his death was not worth one hundred pounds
