Benjamin Tuckwood of Old Dalby 1855 Will

This is the last Will and Testament of me Benjamin Tuckwood of Old Dalby in the County of Leicester Grazier

First I direct my just debts funeral and Testamentary expences to be fully paid

I Give unto my dear Wife Esther Tuckwood the sum of ten pounds to be paid to her in one month after my death by my Executor

I Give and Devise All those four Tenements or Dwelling houses with the Yards Gardens and Appurtenances situate in the High Street of Melton Mowbray in the County of Leicester and in the Tenure of Messrs Shelton Newbold Scattergood and Hickson unto my said Wife Esther Tuckwood and her Assigns for and during the term of her natural life in case she continues my Widow not otherwise And from and immediately after her Marriage or death which shall first happen Then I Give and Devise the said tenements or dwelling houses Yards Gardens and Appurtenances unto my Son William Hawley Tuckwood his heirs and Assigns for ever

I Give unto my said Wife the use of All my Furniture Plate Linen Books and Watch for her life in case she continue my Widow but in case of her death or Marriage which shall first happen I Give the said furniture Plate Linen Books and Watch unto my said Son William Hawley Tuckwood his Executors and Administrators

I Give unto my niece Elizabeth Tuckwood of Waltham on the Woulds in the County of Leicester Spinster the sum of nineteen pounds nineteen shillings which I will shall be paid to her when she attains the Age of twenty one years

I Give and Devise All that Close or ground inclosed called the Ploy situate in the Lordship of Old Dalby aforesaid and which I purchased of John Barnes with the Appurtenances unto my aid Son William Hawley Tuckwood his heirs and Assigns for ever

I Give and bequeath All my Personal Estate and Effects of whatever nature or kind the same may be (subject to the life Interest in part thereof bequeathed to my said Wife) unto my said Son William Hawley Tuckwood his Executors and Administrators and I do appoint him Sole Executor of this my last Will and Testament hereby revoking all others by me made

In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this Fourteenth day of February 1843

Signed sealed published and declared by the said Benjamin Tuckwood as his last Will and Testament in our presence who at his request in his presence and in the presence of each other have set our hands as Witnesses to the due execution thereof

William Hawley Tuckwood of Old Dalby in the County of Leicester Grazier the Sole Executor in this Will named was duly sworn to the truth and faithful performance thereof as usual and to the truth of the usual Stamp Office Affidavit and that the goods chattels and credits of the deceased, without deducting any thing on account of debts owing therefrom do not amount in value to the sum of six hundred Pounds and that the deceased died on the eighth day of December One thousand eight hundred and fifty three
