Thomas Swain of Long Clawson 1768 Will

In the name of god Amen I Thomas Swain of Long Claxton alias Clawson in the County of Leicester Weaver being weak in Body but of sound mind and memory and knowing that it is appointed for all Men once to died Do make and ordain this my Last Will and Testament in Manner following that is to say

First and Principally I commend my soul to the Almighty who Gave it and my Body from [sic] the dust from whence it was taken to be buried at the Charge and discretion of my Executor hereafter Named

And as touching such Worldly Estate wherewith it hath pleased God to bless me with in this Life I dispose of the same as follows

Imprimis I give to my Nephew Robert Julian one Shilling

Item I give and devise all and singular my Messuage or Tenement together with my half Oxgang of Land scituate standing and being in the East End of the Town and several fields Liberties &c of Long Clawson aforesaid with all and every the appurtenances thereof or thereto belonging unto my Nephew William Julian to Continue to him his heirs or assigns for ever also All my goods Chattels Money Securities for money and all my personal and real Estates of what kind the same be I give to my said Nephew William Julian whom I hereby nominate Constitute and appoint full and sole Executor of this my Will revoking all former wills at any time heretofore by me made confirming this only as my Last Will and Testament

In Wittness whereof I the Testator have hereunto set my hand and Seal this Thirteenth day of November One thousand Seven Hundred and Sixty Six

Signed sealed published and declared by the within Named testator for and as his Last Will and Testament in the presence of us who have subscribed our Names as Wittnesses in his presence at his request and in the presence of each other
