This is the last Will and Testament of me George Storer of Saxelby in the County of Leicester Farmer

I give and bequeath all my Household Furniture Plate Linen and Household Effects and all Money Farming Stock Hay Corn and all other my Personal Estate and Effects to my Friends John Hemsley of Grimston Farmer William Wright of Shoby Farmer and William Mackley of Welby Farmer hereinafter called “my Trustees” Upon Trust that they or the Survivors or Survivor of them do stand possessed thereof for the purposes following (namely)

To pay my Debts Funeral and Testamentary Expences and if they deem it prudent so to do to continue on the occupation of my Farm for the maintenance education and bringing up of all my children until my youngest child shall attain the age of twenty one years or marry and on my said youngest child’s attaining the said age or marrying I direct my Trustees to divide the then residue of my said personal Estate and Effects into three equal parts

And as to one third part which I hereby give to my Daughter Elizabeth Ann I direct that she shall pay to my two [obscured but probably “sons”] One Hundred Pounds apiece which I hereby give and bequeath to them

And as to one other third part of my said Residue I direct my Trustees to pay the same to my Son William Thomas

And as to the remaining third part I direct my Trustees to pay the same to my Son George Richard

I expressly direct that my Trustees or Trustee for the time being shall not be answerable or accountable for any Loss or diminution of my Property by their carrying on the said Farm or by any deficiency of any Security or any Banker with whom they may entrust any of the said Trust Property

I also direct that although I have directed the said Shares and Legacies to be paid on my youngest child’s attaining the age of twenty one years or marriage the said Shares and Legacies shall be respectively vested in the said children on their respectively attaining the age of twenty one years or days of Marriage before that time so that the same may be transmissible to their respective personal Representatives

I also direct that before my youngest child shall attain twenty one or marry my Trustees or Trustee may make what may seem to them or him a proper Allowance to such of my Children that may not reside upon the Farm such Allowance not to exceed Twenty five Pounds per annum

I also direct that my said Trustees may advance a Sum of money towards the Apprenticeship of any of my children during their respective minorities which Sum shall be deducted out of the principal of their respective shares when they receive the same

In case any of my Children entitled to Shares or Legacies shall die under the age of twenty one years and without being married I direct the share or Legacy of him or her so dying to be equally divided amongst all my surviving children

And I appoint the said John Hemsley William Wright and William Mackley joint Executors of this my last Will and Testament and Guardians of my younger children during their respective minorities

In witness whereof I the said George Storer the Testator have hereunto set my hand this third day of May One thousand eight hundred and sixty

Signed published and declared by the said George Storer the Testator as and for his last Will and Testament in the presence of us who at his request in his presence and in the presence of each other have hereunto subscribed our Names as Witnesses

On the first day of March 1864 the Will of George Storer late of Saxelby in the County of Leicester Farmer was proved by the Oaths of John Hemsley William Wright and William Mackley the Executors named in the said Will they having been first sworn duly to administer

Sworn under £4,000 and that the Testator died on the twenty third day of January 1864
