In the name of God amen I John Stokes Senior of Wartnaby in the Countie of Leicester yeoman being sick and weake of body but of perfect mind and memory praised be God for it doe make and ordain this my last Will and Testamt in manner and form as followeth
Imprimis I give and bequeath my soul into the hands of Allmightie God and in Jesus Christ my redeemer by whose bitter death and passion I hope to be saved
I bequeath my body to the earth from whence it came to be buried at the discretion of my Executor
And as for that Temporall Estate which God hath bestowed on me I bequeath it as followeth
Item I give unto my wife Elizabeth all my land till my Sonne William shall accomplish the age of one and twenty yeares and then my Son to enter of halfe and after the wifes death to have all my land for him and his heirs forever
Item I give and bequeath all my Goods and Cattell whatsoever unto my Loving wife Elizabeth whom I make my whole and sole Executrix of this my last Will and Testament
Item my Will is that my Sonn shall have his maintenance and bringing up with the Goods and as for the former wills by me in any wise made I utterly make voyd
In witness I have hereunto set my hand and seal the twentie fort day of September 1685
