In the Name of God Amen the twenty ninth day of September in the yeare of our Lord 1705 I Henry Stokes the Elder of Hose in the County of Leic yeoman being sick & weak of Body but of perfect mind and memory thanks be given to God therefore and knowing that it is appointed for all men once to die doe make & ordaine this my Last will and Testament in manner following (That is to say)

First I Commend my soule into the hands of God who Gave it and my Body to the Earth to be buried in a decent manner by my Extor Hereafter Named

And as touching that Worldly Estate with which it hath pleased God to Blesse me I Give and bequeath in manner following

Impris I will that All my debts & funeral Charges be paid and discharged by my Extor hereafter Named

Item I Give & bequeath to my son Richard Stokes five pounds within one yeare after he Comes out of his apprentiseshipp

Item I Give to my Loveing Wife one Shilling

Lastly I Give and bequeath to my Eldest son Henry Stokes all other my personall estate Goods Chattells & Cattell Both Quick and dead of what Nature Kind Quantity or Quality soever the same may be whom I Nominate and appoint to be my full and sole Extor of this my Last will & Testament as is aforesaid
