Thomas Stockwell of Grimston 1803 Will

In the Name of God Amen I Thomas Stockwell of Grimston in the County of Leicester Grazier being of sound and disposing mind and memory do make and ordain this my last Will and Testament in manner and form following

First I Recommend my soul into the Hands of Almighty God my maker and as for my Body to be Buried in a Christian like manner by my Executors hereafter nominated

Item I give and Bequeath to my Grandson John Blunt son of William and Mary Blunt One Shilling

I give and Bequeath to my Daughter Sarah Beeson the Wife of Thomas Beeson the Sum of One Shilling

I give and Bequeath to my Daughter Elizabeth Lacey the Wife of Henry Lacey all that Messuage or Tenement situate in the Parish of Grimston and now in their Own Occupation with the Garden and Premises thereto belonging to the said Elizabeth Lacey her Heirs and Assigns for ever and I also give her the Sum One Shilling

I give and Bequeath to my Daughter Ann Stockwell the Sum of One hundred Pounds to be paid her by my Executors when she attains the Age Twenty One Years

I give and Bequeath to my Dear and loving Wife for the Term of her Life all that Close which belongs to me and in the Lordship of Grimston and in my own occupation and after her Decease to my Son Henry Stockwell I give it to him and his Heirs and Assigns for ever

I also give and Bequeath to my Dear and loving Wife for the Term of her Life the Sum of Five Pounds a Year to be paid her by my Henry Stockwell or his Trustees provided they Two cannot agree together

I also give and Bequeath to my Son Henry Stockwell all my Houshold Goods Stock Cattle and Chattels Money at Interest when my Debts Legacies and Burial Charges are paid when he shall attain the Age of Twenty one years

And I do allso appoint my very good Friends John Hemsley and Thomas Leadbetter both of Grimston Executors and Trustees to my Wife and Children

In Witness whereof I the said Thomas Stockwell have to this my last Will and Testament have set my Hand and Seal this Thirteenth Day of December One Thousand Eight hundred and Two

NB the above Error was corrected before the signing of the Will

26th October 1803 The within named John Hemsley and Thomas Leadbetter the Executors within named were then sworn to the due Execution of the within written Will, and made oath that the Goods Chattells and effects of the within named Testator Thomas Stockwell did not amount at his decease in value to the sum of three hundred pounds as they verily believed
