This is the last Will and Testament of me Samuel Starbuck of Harby in the County of Leicester Farmer and Carrier

I appoint my Son William Starbuck and Henry Marriott of Scalford in the County of Leicester Farmer to be the Executors and Trustees of this my Will

I bequeath a legacy of One hundred pounds to my daughter Mary Jane Starbuck

I bequeath to my Wife Jane Starbuck a legacy of Fifty pounds to be paid to her out of the first monies my Executors shall receive

I bequeath to my said Wife during her Widowhood the use and enjoyment of my furniture and household ornaments and effects

I devise my dwellinghouse with the outoffices belonging thereto at Harby aforesaid (except such buildings as are hereinafter devised to my son William) to my said Wife during her Widowhood And on her death or remarriage I direct that the said Dwellinghouse and outoffices shall pass to my said Trustees Upon trust as hereinafter mentioned

I bequeath to my said Wife during her Widowhood the sum of Twelve shillings per week the first weekly payment to be made on the Monday after my decease

I devise to my son William during the Widowhood of my said wife the stables and Buildings used by me in my trade of a Farmer and Carrier adjoining to my said Dwellinghouse at Harby aforesaid and I direct that on the death or remarriage of my said Wife the said stables and Buildings shall pass to my said Trustees Upon trust as hereinafter mentioned

I devise the Blacksmiths Close situate at Harby aforesaid with the two Cottages and Granary thereon And also the Dwellinghouse at Stathern in the County of Leicester occupied by John Singleton to my said son William in fee simple absolutely

I devise and bequeath all my residuary real and personal estate to my Trustees absolutely Upon trust (subject to my Wife’s interest during Widowhood in the said furniture and household ornaments and effects and to the respective interests given to my said wife and son William in the said Dwellinghouse outoffices stables and Buildings during Widowhood of my said Wife) to sell and get in the same at the end of Twelve months after my decease And out of the proceeds To pay my funeral and Testamentary expenses and debts And to hold the residue thereof In trust (subject to the payment of the said Twelve shillings per week to my said wife during her Widowhood) for such of my children Betsy Inman, Lucy Mattock, William Starbuck, Mary Jane Starbuck, Henry Starbuck and Ellen Cowley as shall be living at my death and such issue then living of any of my said children then dead as being male attain 21 years or being female attain that age or marry under that age and if more than one in equal shares as tenants in common according to the stocks and not to the number of the individuals

In witness whereof Arthur Williams of the Town of Nottingham Solicitor has in my presence and by my direction and in the presence of the two subscribing witnesses signed my name at the end of this my Will this seventh day of February 1885

We the undersigned have attested the execution of the foregoing Will  by Arthur Williams of the Town of Nottingham Solicitor signing the same of Samuel Starbuck of Harby in the County of Leicester Farmer and Carrier at the end thereof in his sight and presence and by his direction and in the sight and presence of us together present at the same time and we in the sight and presence of the said Samuel Starbuck at his request and in the presence of each other subscribed our names as attesting Witnesses

Proved at Leicester on the twenty seventh day of April 1885 by the Oaths of William Starbuck, the Son, and Henry Marriott the Executors to whom Administration was granted

The Testator Samuel Starbuck was late of Harby in the County of Leicester Farmer and Carrier and died on the twelfth day of February 1885 at Harby aforesaid
