In the name of god Amen in the yeare of our lord god 1598 the 16 day of Februarye I Gregorye Spencer of Hoose sycke in body, but wholl in mynde, & of good & perfect Remembrance thanks be to god, I doe ordayn & make this my last wyll & testament in maner & forme followinge
Fyrst I bequeth my sole to allmyghtie god my Creator & Redemer & my bodie to be buried in the church yard of Hoose
Itm I geve unto Jhon my eldest sonne xiid & to eyther of his towe Chyldren vid
Itm I geve unto Every poore houshold in the towne id
Itm I geve unto Wyllm Spencer his Chyldren xiid & unto Thomas Chambers & his syster iiiid
Item to every one of my brethren iiiid
Itm I geve unto my sonne Wyllm the blacke browne younger fyllie
Itm I geve unto my daughter Jone a blacke …yearlinge hecfer & unto Jhon my youngest sonne one Ewe & a lambe & Gregory my sonne hath one ewe of his owne
Itm I wyll that all the grasses, …, corne, and comon which shalbe longe & grow unto or upon the oxgang of land which I have by leace shalbe dew and belonge unto my wyfe & to my iiii youngest Chyldren unto mychellmes next coming & after to Jhon my eldest sonne
Allso my wyll is that all my goods & chattells movable & unmoveable my debts & legaces beinge payed & my funerall expences discharged shalbe Equallye devided into three parts whereof I wyll that Agnis my wife shall have one part & my iiii youngest chyldren to have thother tow parts
Itm I wyll that if god do call any of my sayd Chyldren before the come to lawfull age that their parts shall then Remayne Amongest the Residew
Allso I wyll that Agnis my wyfe shalbe my full & sole Executrix of this my last wyll & testament and allso that she shall have the bringing up of my Children unto they come to lawfull Age
