In the Name of God Amen I William Smart of Scalford in the County of Leicester Carpenter being Indisposed in health But of perfect Mind and Memory praised bee Almighty God for it Doe make and Ordeyne this my Last will and testament in manner and forme following that is to say
Imprimis I Give & Bequeath my Soule into the hands of Almighty god my Maker & Creatour hopeing thorough thonely Merritts of Our Blessed Lord and Saviour to bee made partaker of life Everlasting
And as for my Goods Chattles Cattle & personall estate which it hath pleased Almighty God to bestow upon Mee I Devise and Bequeath the same as followes
Item I Give unto my Eldest Sonne Thomas Smart the Sume of One Shilling
Item I Give unto my Second Sonne Wm Smart the Sume of One Shilling
Item I Give unto my Sonne Richard Smart the Sume of tenne pounds of Good and Lawfull mony of England
Item I Give unto my Sonne John Smart the Sume of tenne pounds of Good & lawfull mony of England
All the Rest of my Goods Chattles Mortgages Bonds or any other specialtyes whatsoever I Give & Bequeath unto my Twoe Daughters Mary and Anne Smart to bee equally Devided Betwixt them whom I doe make Joynte executrices of this my Last Will and testamt they the said Mary and Anne paying thabove menconed Legacyes to the Legatees above Named within Six months after my Decease
And I doe hereby Desire and appoynte Thomas Awood of Scalford aforesd Gent & Hugh Guy of the same Towne & County Yeoman to bee Overseers of this my Last Will and Testament hereby Revokeing all former and other Wills whatsoever heretofore by Mee made
And Desires them the sd Thomas Awood and Hugh Guy to bee assisting unto my said twoe Daughters in the Management of theire Affayres until they or either of them bee Marryed or attayne unto the Age of One & Twenty yeares
In Wittnesse whereof I have hereunto sett my hand & seale the Eight Day of January In the Second yeare of the Raigne of our Sovraigne Lord and Lady King Wm & Queene Mary over England &c Annoq Dni 1690
