Thomas Smart of Scalford 1783 Will

This is the last Will and Testament of me Thomas Smart of Scalford in the County of Leicester Grazier as follows

First I give and devise unto my dear and loving wife Ann Smart all that my Messuage or Tenement with the Barn, Stables, Fold yard and premises, scituate and being in Ab Kettleby in the County of Leicestershire aforesaid, and in the tenure of occupation of Amos Tuckwood the younger his under tenants or assigns, to her, her heirs and Assigns for ever

I give and bequeath unto my kinsman Thomas Smart the sum of one shilling

All the rest, residue and remainder of my Goods, Stock, Cattle, Chattels, Rights, Credits, and personal Estate, of what nature or kind soever, after payment of my just debts, funeral expences, and other charges incident thereto, I give and bequeath the same unto my dear and loving wife Ann Smart, whom I also appoint full and sole Executrix of this my last Will and testament, revoking all former wills by me at any time made, and this only to be my last will and testament

In witness whereof I have hereunto set my Hand and Seal, this ninth day of September, in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and eighty three

On the twentieth day of November 1783 Ann Smart the Executrix within named was sworn to the due Execution of this will, & made oath that the personal Estate of the deceased did not amount to the sum of three hundred pounds
