Ann Sleath of Grimston 1809 Will

In the Name of God Amen I Ann Sleath of Grimston in the County of Leicester Widow being of sound and disposing Mind and Memory do make and ordain this my last Will and Testament in manner and form following (that is to say)

First I will that all my Debts Legacies and Burial Charges be Paid and Discharged by my Executor herein after nominated

I give and bequeath to my sons Thomas Richard William and Isaac Sleath the sum of One Shilling each

I give and bequeath to my Daughter Elizabeth the Wife of Thomas Ilstone Chest, Dressing Table and large Pewter Dish, besides one silver spoon

I also give and bequeath to my Daughter Dorothy the Wife of William Bean, the Chest of Drawers, Swing Glass, Brown Hangings and Bedstead, two Pillows, three House Chairs, … Scraper, Wheel, one Silver Spoon, Tea Kettle, small Pewter Dish and one Pewter Plate & small Oval Table

I also bequeath and give to my  Daughter Sarah the Wife of Thomas Harrison one small Bed, 3 Blankets, Clock, Fire range two white handed knives and Forks, One brass Candlestick one Silver spoon, Fender, poker, Iron Horse and five Pewter plates, and Reel, and two Chamber Chairs

I also give and bequeath to my Daughter Jane the Wife of Thomas Jennings, One Bed, bedstead, and Hangings, three Blankets, One Pair Sheets, Bolster, two Pillows, three Chamber Chairs, Warming Pan, small Hand Brass Candlestick, two Knives and forks, one Silver spoon, one Leaf Table and one long Pewter Dish & Brass Ladle

I also give and bequeath to my Daughter Deborah the wife of Thomas Oswin Large Oval Table, Tongs, large Pewter Dish, Spit, fork, small pan, two Chairs and one Silver spoon

I also give and bequeath to my Grand Daughter Elizabeth Harrison the Daughter of Thomas and Sarah Harrison my Gold Ring

I also give and bequeath to my Daughters Elizabeth Ilstone, Dorothy Bean, Sarah Harrison, Jane Jennings and Deborah Oswin to have all my Clothes and Wearing Apparel to be Divided equally amongst them at my Decease

I also give and bequeath all the rest of my Goods and Chattels and Stock not already disposed of to my Son Daniel Sleath and I do make and ordain him my Sole Executor of this my last Will and Testament

In witness whereof I have hereunto set my Hand and Seal this 20th Day of March One Thousand Eight hundred and seven

Daniel Sleath the Executor of the within named Testatrix Ann Sleath was then sworn to the due execution of the within written Will and at the same time made Oath that the said Testatrix did not die possessed of Goods and chattels to the value of one hundred pounds as he verily believed
