John Simpson of Grimston 1726 Will

In the Name of God Amen I John Simpson of Grimston in the County of Leicester laborour being weake of Body but of sound and perfect mind and memory praised be the Lord for the same I doe make and ordaine this my last Will and Testament in manner and form following viz

Imprimis I Give to my Sonne William Simpson the Sume of three Pounds

Item I Give unto my Sonne Edward Simpson the Sum of four pounds

Item I Give unto my Sonne John Simpson the Sume of four Pounds

Item I Give unto my Sonne Robert Simpson the Sume of four Pounds Also I further give him one Brass porredg pott the lesser of the Two

Item I Give unto my Sonne Thomas the sume of six pounds

Item I Give unto my Sonne Joseph Simpson the Sume of four pounds

Item I further give unto my Sonnes Thomas Simpson and Joseph Simpson all my Cloaths being wearing Apparrel both Woollings and linnens hatts shoes and stockings etc

And my Will is that the said severall and respective Sumes befor bequeathed and Given unto my said Sonnes be paid them by my Executrix hereafter Named within Twelve Callender months after my Decease

Item I Give and devise unto my Daughter Deborah Simpson all that my Cottage House or Tenement one Cow pasture and all other the premises thereunto belonging standing and being in Grimston aforesaid unto her her heirs and Assignes for ever she paying the aforesaid legacies unto the said several of my sonnes as before mentioned and at the said time And my will is that the said house shall stand Chargeable for the payment of the same in for default of paying the same then my will is that my said House shall be sold to make good the said legacies and the overplus I give unto my said Daughter Deborah Simpson

And my will further is that if my Daughter Deborah should happen to Die before such time as the said legacies shall become payable as foresaid and have no Issue then my said sonnes Thomas and Joseph Simpson shall have the house betwixe them equally the paying the other four brothers the legacies before mentioned at the time aforesaid

Item I Give all the rest of my Goods Chattels and Cattels whatsoever undisposed of unto my Daughter Deborah Simpson She paying all my debts and legacies and funeral Expences and doe make her Sole Executrix of this my last Will and Testament

In witness hereof I have hereunto sett my hand and seal the seaventh day of July Anno Dom 1724
