In the name of God Amen The Third day of October In the yeare of Our Lord God One Thousand Six Hundred Fifty and Five I Edward Simpson of Saxelbie In the County of Leicester yeoman being Sicke in Body But Notwithstanding in good and perfect remembrance (Thanks bee therefore given to Almighty God for it) Doe make Ordaine and Appoint this my last Will and Testament in manner and forme following

Wherein First I bequeath my Soule into the hands of Almighty God my maker his Sonne Jesus Christ my Redeemer And to the Holy Ghost my Comforter, And my body to the earth, To the earth to bee buryed

I give and bequeath Unto my Sonne Robert Twenty pownds

Item I give and bequeath Unto my daughter Mary Tenn Pounds

Item I give unto my Sonne Roberts Sonne William Five Pounds

Item I give and bequeath unto my Sonne Johns daughter Mary Five Pounds

Item I give and bequeath unto my Sonne Roberts Children every one a Sheepe, Onely William hath none

Item I give and bequeath unto my Sonne in Lawe Edward Wilfords Children every One a Sheepe

Item I give and bequeath unto my Sonne in Law John Blower one Sheepe

Item I give and bequeath to his Sonne John One Sheepe

Item I give and bequeath unto my Sonne in Lawe Robert Smalley One Sheepe

Item I give and bequeath unto Robert Smalleys Children every one a Sheepe

Item I give and bequeath to my Servant [blank] Gamble Five Shillings

Item I give and bequeath unto the Poore of Saxelbie Six Shillings and Eight Pence

Item I give and bequeath unto my Sonne John and Unto my Sonne William Twenty Pounds apeece Whom I make my full and Joynt Executors of this my last Will and Testament

Item I give to the Writer Fower Shillings

Revoaking all former Wills by mee heretofore hadd and made by mee whatsoever

This will was proved att London The Fifth Day of the Moneth of January In the yeare of our Lord (According to the English Accompt) One Thousand Six Hundred fifty and Five Before the Judges of Probate of wills and granting Administracons lawfully authorized By the Oathes of John and William Simpson, The Sonnes and Joynt Executors named in the said Will, To whom was Committed Administration of all and singular the Goods Chattles and Debts of the said deceased, They being first Sworne by Commission well and truly to Administer the same
