This is the last Will and Testament of me William Shipman of Stathern Lodge in the County of Leicester Farmer and Grazier as follows

First I direct all my just debts Funeral and Testamentary Expences to be fully paid

I give and devise all that my Close or Ground inclosed situate in the Lordship of Stathern aforesaid called the Hall Close in the occupation of Joshua Marriott unto my two Sons Henry Shipman and William Shipman their Heirs and Assigns for ever as Tenants in common and not as joint Tenants

I give and bequeath unto my two Brothers Andrew Shipman of Eaton Lodge and Thomas Shipman of Stathern aforesaid Farmers and my relation Henry Shilcock of Hose in the said County Maltster the sum of Seven hundred pounds upon trust that they or the survivor of them or the Executors or Administrators of such survivor do and shall as soon as convenient after my decease place the same out on good real security and with the interest yearly arising therefrom to pay the same unto my affectionate Wife Ann Shipman and her Assigns for and during the term of her natural life for her own use

And from and after the decease of my said Wife then I give the said principal Sum of Seven hundred pounds unto and amongst all and every my four Children namely Henry Shipman William Shipman Elizabeth and Ann Shipman their Executors and Administrators in equal shares But in case either of my said four Children shall happen to die in the lifetime of my said Wife unmarried and without lawful Issue Then I will that the share or shares of him her or them so dying as aforesaid shall be paid to the survivors or survivor of them in equal proportions

And my mind and will further is and I do hereby desire that my said Wife shall continue to reside with my said Children But in case it shall happen that they cannot agree to live together then I give to my said Wife (in addition to the Interest to arise from the said principal money so to be placed out as aforesaid) one Annuity or clear yearly sum of Fifteen pounds of lawful British money to be paid half yearly vizt on the sixth day of April and the eleventh day of October in every year during such part of her natural life as she shall continue my Widow the first payment thereof to be made on either of the said days as shall first happen after my said Wife shall leave the residence of my said Children and go to reside elsewhere

Also I give to my said Wife Ann Shipman such part of my Furniture as she may select sufficient to furnish two Rooms comfortably to be given to her immediately on her leaving the residence of my Children

I give and bequeath unto my said three Trustees Andrew Shipman Thomas Shipman and Henry Shilcock their Executors or Administrators the sum of One thousand and four hundred pounds Upon this special trust nevertheless that they or the survivor of them his Executors or Administrators do and shall place the same out on good real security as soon as convenient after my decease and with the Interest yearly and every year arising therefrom to apply the same for and towards the maintenance education and bringing up of my two Daughters Elizabeth Shipman and Ann Shipman until they severally attain the age of Twenty one years and when and as they shall severally attain such age upon trust to pay or assign the said principal sum unto and between my said two Daughters Elizabeth Shipman and Ann Shipman share and share alike But in case either of my said Daughters shall happen to die under age unmarried and without Issue then I will that the share of her so dying shall be paid unto and amongst all my Children then living in equal proportions or to their Executors or Administrators

I give and bequeath all the rest and residue of my Household Goods Stock Cattle Chattels Rights Credits ready Money securities for money and all other the residue and remainder of my personal Estate and Effects whatsoever (subject to the payment of the said Annuity of Fifteen pounds on the above contingency debts Funeral and Testamentary expences) unto my said two Sons Henry Shipman and William Shipman their Executors and Administrators share and share alike to be vested in them at the age of twenty one years the Rents Issues and Profits thereof to be applied by my said Trustees in the maintenance education and bringing up of my said two Sons in the meantime

But in case either of my said two Sons shall happen to die under age and without lawful Issue then I direct that the share of the residue of my said personal Estate of him so dying shall be paid to the survivor his Executors or Administrators

And I do hereby appoint the said Andrew Shipman Thomas Shipman and Henry Shillcock Trustees and Guardians for all my said Children during their minority and also joint Executors In trust of this my last Will and Testament hereby revoking all former Wills by me made

And my mind and Will further is that my said Trustees shall be at liberty out of the said Trust monies and premises to retain all necessary costs and expences they may be at or put to in executing the said Trusts and that neither of them shall be answerable for anything except their own wilful neglect or default

Provided and my Will further is in case all my said four Children shall happen to die under age as aforesaid unmarried and without lawful Issue then and in such case I dispose of the remainder of my personal Estate and Effects as follows

Unto my Brothers in Law Henry Shillcock of Hose aforesaid the Sum of Four hundred pounds unto William Shillcock of Hose aforesaid and John Shillcock of Shackerstone in the said County of Leicester the sum of Two hundred pounds apiece And as to the remainder I give and bequeath the same unto and amongst all and every my Brothers and Sisters equally share and share alike and in case either or any of them should happen to die then I give the Father or Mothers share or shares unto and amongst their respective Issues share and share alike

In witness whereof I the said William Shipman the Testator have to this my last Will and Testament written on three sheets of paper to the two first sheets thereof set my hand and to this third and last my hand and seal this thirteenth day of June One thousand eight hundred and twenty five
