This is the last Will and Testament of me John Shipman of Stathern in the county of Leicester Farmer
I give and devise all my messuages or Tenements Closes land and Real Estate situate at Stathern aforesaid or elsewhere unto my Wife for her life and after her death to my two Sons William Shipman and Thomas Shipman their heirs and assigns for ever subject to her paying the interest of any mortgage debts that my be subsisting at the time of my death
I give and bequeath all my household furniture farming stock money securities for money and all other my personal estate and effects unto my said wife during her life and after her death unto my said two Sons William Shipman and Thomas Shipman to be equally divided between them
I charge all my personal estate with the payment of my debts (except Mortgage debts) Funeral and testamentary expences
And I appoint my said two Sons Executors of this my Will
Witness my hand this 9th day of June one thousand eight hundred and sixty three

Signed published and declared by the said John Shipman the Testator as and for his last Will and Testament in the presence of us who at his request in his presence and in the presence of each other have hereunto subscribed our names as Witnesses the word “my” having been first substituted for the word “her” as above

Proved at Leicester the twelfth day of February 1867 by the oaths of William Shipman and Thomas Shipman Sons of the deceased the Executors to whom Administration was granted
The Testator John Shipman was formerly of Stathern and late of Melton Mowbray both in the County of Leicester Farmer and died on the twenty first day of January 1867 at Melton Mowbray aforesaid.
