This is the Last Will and Testament of me William Shilcock of Hose in the County of Leicester Grazier and Farmer

First I desire to be buried in a decent manner at the discretion of my Executor hereinafter named and as for my worldly Estate which hath pleased God to bless me with I Give and dispose thereof as follows

In the first place I Give and devise All that Messuage or Tenement with the Homestead thereunto belonging situate standing and being in Hose aforesaid and which I purchased to me and my heirs of and from one Joseph Garratt unto my dear and loving wife Alice Shilcock for and during the term of her natural Life

Also I Give and bequeath all that Interest and produce of four hundred and Fifty pounds which is now secured by Mortgage on Lands in Scalford in the said County of Leicester unto my said Wife Alice Shilcock for her own use and benefit and to be faithfully paid her yearly and every year during the term of her natural Life by my Executor hereinafter named

Also I Give and devise all that Messuage Cottage or Tenement with the yard Garden Homestead and other the premises with the Appurtenances thereunto belonging situate standing lying and being in Harby in the said County of Leicester and also all those several pieces and parcels of Open Field Land Arable Meadow and pasture Ground situate lying and being in the several Fields Liberties precincts and Territories of Harby aforesaid and commonly reputed to be half an Oxgang of Land or thereabouts And also one Cottage Common for one Beast and five Sheep to be yearly had and taken in the said Open Fields of Harby aforesaid and which said Messuage Cottage or Tenement Lands Common and premises I purchased to me and my heirs of and from one Matthew Marshall And also all those other several pieces and parcels of Arable Land Ley Meadow and pasture Ground situate lying and being in the said Open and Common Fields Liberties precincts and Territories of Harby aforesaid and commonly reputed to be half an Oxgang of Land or thereabouts and now in my own possession and which said last mentioned half Oxgang of Land I purchased to  me and my heirs of and from one Richard Dixon And also all those two several Closes of Pasture or Grounds Inclosed situate lying and being in the Lordship precincts and Territories of Hose aforesaid and called or known by the several names of the nether Close and the Road Close and containing together by Estimation twenty three Acres or thereabouts and which I purchased to me and my heirs of and from Widow Clarke and others unto my second son William Shilcock his heirs and Assigns for ever

Also I Give and bequeath unto my said son William Shilcock my Chest one Oval Table and Writing Desk to be delivered to him immediately after my decease by my said Executor

Also I Give and devise all those several pieces and parcels of Arable Land Ley Meadow and pasture Ground situate lying and being in the several Open Fields Liberties precincts and Territories of Hose aforesaid and commonly reputed to be half an Oxgang of Land or thereabouts And also all those four Acres and a half of Open Field Land situate lying and being in the said Open Fields of Hose aforesaid together with a Cottage Common Right to be freely had and taken in the said Open Fields of Hose aforesaid and which I purchased to me and my heirs of and from Joshua Sparrow and Richard Marriott respectively unto my youngest son Henry Shilcock his heirs and Assigns for ever

Also I Give and devise All those two Messuages or Tenements with an Homestead to one of them belonging situate standing and being in Hose aforesaid And also all those several pieces and parcels of Arable Land Ley Meadow pasture and Grass Ground situate lying and being in the said Open Fields and Liberties of Hose aforesaid and commonly reputed to be one eighth part of an Oxgang of Land or thereabouts And also all that Cottage Common Right to be had and taken within a certain Close in the Lordship of Hose aforesaid called the Brock hills Cottage Close And also one other Cottage Common right to be had and taken within the said Open Fields of Hose aforesaid and which I purchased to me and my heirs of and from one William Garratt And also all that other Close of pasture or Ground inclosed situate lying and being in the Lordship of Hose aforesaid containing by Estimation two Acres or thereabouts and called by the name of the Hayside Close and which I purchased to me and my heirs of and from one Henry Lammin unto my said youngest Son Henry Shilcock his heirs and Assigns for ever

Also all that part or share of and in all that new Inclosed piece or parcel of Land lying and being within the Lordship precincts and territories of Claxton otherwise Long Clawson in the said County of Leicester adjoining to the said Fields of Hose aforesaid and which upon the Inclosure of the said Fields of Claxton otherwise Long Clawson aforesaid were allotted jointly with Lands belonging to my said Son Henry Shilcock and which he purchased of and from Thomas Oldknow of the Town and County of the Town of Nottingham Esquire which said part or share of the said New Inclosed Piece of parcel of Land Hereditaments and premises so  situate in Claxton otherwise Long Clawson aforesaid I Give and devise the same and every part thereof unto my said youngest Son Henry Shilcock his heirs and Assigns for ever

Also I Give and bequeath unto my son John Shilcock the sum of One Shilling to be paid him immediately after my decease by my said Executor

Also I Give and bequeath unto my Daughter Alice Shilcock the same of One hundred pounds to be paid her within twelve Months next after my decease by my said Executor

Also I Give and bequeath unto my said Dear Wife Alice Shilcock All that Bed Bedding and Furniture situate in the Parlour in my now dwelling House in Hose aforesaid together with such other part of my said Household Goods to the amount and in value of ten pounds to be delivered to her immediately after my decease by my said Executor

And Lastly all the rest residue and remainder of my Household Goods other Goods Stock Cattle Chattels rights Credits ready money and securities for money Implements of Husbandry and all other my Personal Estate of what Nature or kind soever or wheresoever not hereinbefore by me specifically given and bequeathed I Give and bequeath the same unto my Eldest son Joseph Shilcock for his own use and benefit and whom I do hereby nominate constitute and appoint full and Sole Executor of this my Last Will and Testament hereby revoking and making void all former and other Wills by me at any time heretofore made

In Witness whereof I the said William Shilcock the Testator have to this my Last Will and Testament written on three sheets of paper set my hand and to the Last affixed by Seal this Seventeenth day of June in the year of our Lord One thousand seven hundred and Eighty three
