Joseph Shilcock of Hose 1839 Will

This is the last Will and Testament of me Joseph Shilcock of Hose in the County of Leicester Gentleman as follows

First I direct all my just debts funeral and testamentary expences to be paid

I Give and Devise One Annuity or yearly sum of One hundred pounds free from all taxes whatsoever unto my affectionate Wife Sarah Shillcock and her assigns for her life and which I direct shall be paid to her half yearly that is to say on the fifth day of April and the tenth day of October in every year the first payment thereof to begin and be made on either of the said days as shall first happen after my decease and I do hereby subject and charge the whole of my Real and Personal Estates with the just and true payment thereof And I do also give unto my said Wife and her assigns such and the same power of obtaining payment of the said Annuity and all Arrears upon the whole or any part of my said Real Estates by distress and sale as Landlords have for the obtaining payment of rent in arrear

Whereas having provided for my daughters Mary Ann the Wife of William Shilcock Ann the Wife of William Coleman upon their respective marriages it is not my intention to add any more the their respective portions by this my Will

I Give unto my Daughters Frances Shilcock Caroline Shilcock and Sarah the Wife of William Morely the Sum of Four hundred pounds apiece which I will shall be paid to each of them within twelve months after my death

I also Give unto my daughter Eliza Shilcock the like sum of Four hundred pounds which I will shall be paid to her upon attaining her full age of twenty one years All which legacies I make chargeable upon the whole of my real and personal estates hereinafter given devised and bequeathed

I Give unto my said Wife Sarah Shilcock the Sum of Six hundred pounds which I will shall be paid to her within twelve months after my decease and I charge all my real and personal estates with the true payment thereof

I Give devise and bequeath All my Messuages Closes Lands Hereditaments and real Estates whatsoever situate in Barrow upon Soar in the county of Leicester and Hose aforesaid or elsewhere with the appurtenances And all my personal estate and effects whatsoever (subject to the payment of my debts legacies Annuity funeral and testamentary expences) unto my Son Thomas Beaumont Shilcock his Heirs executors administrators and assigns for ever and do appoint him Sole Executor of this my last Will and testament hereby revoking all others by me made

In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this Ninth day of May One thousand eight hundred and thirty eight

Signed sealed published and declared by the said Joseph Shilcock as and for his last Will and testament in the presence of us who have at his request in his presence and in the presence of each other set our hands as Witnesses to the due execution thereof

Thomas Beaumont Shilcock of Hose in the county of Leicester Gentleman the sole executor in the Will named was duly sworn as well to the truth and faithful performance thereof and that the goods chattels and credits of the deceased do not amount in value to the Sum of Two Thousand Pounds and that the deceased died on the thirty first day of December last past
