This is the last Will and Testament of me John Shelton of Chadwell in the County of Leicester Grazier

First I direct all my just debts funeral and testamentary expenses to be fully paid

I give and devise and bequeath all my real and personal Estate and Effects whatsoever and wheresoever (including as well real as personal estate over which I have or shall have a general power of appointment) unto my Wife Jane Shelton during her life for her sole and separate use and after her decease I give devise and bequeath the whole of my said real and personal Estate and Effects unto my Friend Charles Wells of Melton Mowbray in the County of Leicester Stud Groom and my Friend Thomas Morris of Wykeham in the same County Farmer their heirs executors administrators and assigns Upon trust that they the said Charles Wells and Thomas Morris or the survivor of them his heirs executors administrators or assigns shall in such manner and under such stipulations and upon such terms and conditions in all respects as they or he shall in their or his uncontrolled discretion think fit sell collect or otherwise convert into ready money (according to the nature of the premises) all such parts of the same premises as shall not consist of ready money and may buy in or rescind or vary any contract for sale or of any other description and resell without being answerable for loss and may for the purposes aforesaid or any of them execute and do all such assurances and things as they or he shall think fit

And shall out of the monies to be produced by such sale collection and conversion and all other monies arising from or forming part of my residuary estate pay to each of them my Daughters Elizabeth the Wife of William Burton Harriett the Wife of Richard Brewin and Norah the Wife of Thomas Cunnington the sum of Fifty pounds apiece absolutely

And to my Grand daughter Mary Ann Shelton (who now resides with me) the sum of Ten pounds absolutely

And shall pay the residue of the said trust monies unto my said three Daughters Elizabeth Burton Harriett Brewin and Norah Cunningham and my Son William Shelton in equal shares

I appoint the said Charles Wells and Thomas Morris Executors of my Will

In witness whereof I the said John Shelton the Testator have hereunto set my hand this First day of October One thousand eight hundred and seventy eight

Signed and acknowledged by the said John Shelton the Testator as and for his last Will and Testament in the presence of us present at the same time and who at his request in his presence and in the presence of each other have hereunto subscribed our names as witnesses

Proved at Leicester on the second day of April 1887 by the Oath of Thomas Morris one of the Executors to whom Administration was granted Charles Wells the other Executor having renounced the Probate and Execution of the Will

The Testator John Shelton was late of Chadwell in the County of Leicester Grazier and died on the fourth day of June 1884 at Chadwell aforesaid
