Elizabeth Shelton of Chadwell 1731 Will and Inventory

In the Name of God, Amen I Elizabeth Shelton of Chadwell in the County of Leicester Widdow, being weak in Body but perfect in Memmory (Praised be God) do make and apoint this my Last Will and Testament in the Maner and form following (viz)

First I bequeath my Soul to God my Maker Hoping through the Death and pashon of My Saviour Jesus Christ to receive pardon for my Sins, and my Body to Beuried in the Christian burial at the Descrion of my Executor hear after Named

I give to my Son Francis the Sum of ten pounds to be paid 3 years after the Date hereof

I give to Robert My Son the Sum of ten pounds to be paid 5 years after the Date hereof

I give to my Son John a Bed-Sted with the Beding there to be longing and a Chest, both being at his Brother’s at Chadwell

Likewise I give to him and my Son Thomas’s Eldest Daughter the Bees in the Garden

All the Rest of my Goods which are at his House I give to my Son Thomas

All the Rest of my Goods Chattels and Personable Estate Whatsoever (except my wearing Aparill which I give to my Daughter Mary) I give to my Son William, he paying all my Debts Legacies and Funeral expences, whom I make Sole Executor of this my Last will & Testament revokeing all others

In Witness whereof I have hereunto Set my Hand and Seal the 6 Day of February Anno Dom: 1728/9
