Richard Sharp of Scalford 1854 Will

This is the last Will and Testament of me Richard Sharpe of Scalford in the County of Leicester malster

I direct all my just debts funeral and Testamentary Expences to be fully paid

I Give and bequeath unto my Son Richard Sharpe the legacy or Sum of Nineteen Pounds and nineteen shillings to be paid to him within twelve months after my decease

I Give Devise and bequeath All my Messuages Cottages Closes Lands Tenements hereditaments and Real Estate whatsoever situate at Scalford aforesaid or elsewhere with their Appurtenances And also all other my Personal Estate and Effects of every description Unto my affectionate Wife Sarah Sharpe for her to have the free use and enjoyment thereof during such part of her natural life as She shall continue my widow

And from and immediately after her death or marriage which shall first happen Then I Give Devise and bequeath my said Estates both Real and Personal Unto my six Children Thomas, John, Mary Ann, Eliza, Sarah, and Richard their heirs Executors Administrators and assigns for ever as Tenants in Common and not as joint Tenants

In case my said Wife should marry again Then I Give to her the legacy or Sum of Twenty Pounds only

And I do appoint my said Wife Sole Executrix of this my last Will and Testament hereby Revoking all former Wills by me made

In Witness whereof I have hereto set my hand and seal this Twenty Third day of August one thousand eight hundred and forty two

Signed sealed published and declared by the said Testator Richard Sharpe the elder as and for his last Will and Testament in the presence of us who have at his request in his presence and in the presence of each other set our hands as witnesses to the due Execution thereof

Sarah Sharpe of Scalford in the County of Leicester widow the Sole Executrix in this will named was duly sworn to the truth and faithful performance thereof as usual and that the goods Chattels and Credits of the deceased without deducting any Debts owing by him therefrom do not amount in Value to the sum of four hundred and fifty pounds and that the deceased died on the twenty fifth day of August 1854
