John Robinson of Scalford 1843 Will

This is the last Will and Testament of me John Robinson of Scalford Lodge in the Parish of Scalford in the County of Leicester Farmer

First I direct all my just debts funeral and testamentary expences to be fully paid

I Give devise and bequeath All my Real Estate situate at Edmondthorpe in the said County of Leicester consisting of a Close of Meadow of pasture land containing Five acres or thereabouts And also all money securities for money stock on my Farm hay corn straw implements of husbandry cattle chattels and all other my personal estate and effects of whatever nature or kind I may die possessed of unto my Wife Ann Robinson and my Eldest Son William Robinson their heirs executors administrators and assigns Subject to the payment of the following legacies thereout unto each of my younger children when and as they respectively attain their ages of twenty two years

I Give and bequeath to Rebecca Robinson the sum of One hundred pounds absolutely

I Give unto Daniel Robinson the like sum of One hundred pounds absolutely

I Give unto Joseph Robinson the like sum of One hundred pounds absolutely

I Give unto David Robinson the like sum of One hundred pounds absolutely

I Give unto George Robinson the like sum of One hundred pounds absolutely

I Give unto Ann Robinson the like sum of One hundred pounds absolutely

I Give unto Fanny Robinson the like sum of One hundred pounds absolutely

And I give unto John Robinson the like sum of One hundred pounds absolutely

All which said legacies I wish shall be paid when and as my said children attain their respective ages of twenty two years

All which said Legacies I charge the whole of my said Real and Personal Estate with the just and true payment thereof

And I do hereby further Will and direct that in case the said Ann Robinson and William Robinson shall find it requisite for the payment of any of the foregoing legacies it is my Will that it shall be lawful for my said Wife and Son at any time notwithstanding the minority of any of my younger children to raise any Sum or Sums of money by way of sale or mortgage of my said Close hereinbefore devised And that the receipt or receipts in writing of the said Ann Robinson and William Robinson shall be good and sufficient discharges to such Purchaser or Mortgagee for such money therein expressed to be received

And I appoint my said Wife and Son joint executrix and executor hereof

In Witness whereof I the said Johm Robinson the Testator have to this my last Will and Testament set my hand and seal this fourth day of February 1843

Signed sealed published and declared by the said John Robinson the testator as and for his last Will and testament in the presence of us who have at his request in his presence and in the presence of each other subscribed our names as Witnesses to the due Execution thereof the interlineations as to the appointment of Executors and the word February being first made

On the fourth day of April 1843 Ann Robinson of Scalford in the county of Leicester & Willm Robinson of Scalford in the county of Leicester the executrix & executor in this will named were duly sworn to the truth & faithful performance thereof as usual, & that the goods chattels & credits of the deceased do not amount in the value to the sum of six hundred pounds, & that the deceased died on the sixth day of Feby last past
