James Riley of Harby 1759 Will and Inventory

In the Name of God Amen I James Rylie of Harby in the County of Leicester Labourer being weak of body but of perfect mind & memory praised be almighty God therefore do make & ordain this my Last will & testament in manner & form following that is to say

First I give & Bequeath my Soul unto the Hands of god that gave it hoping thro’ the death & passion of Jesus Christ our Saviour to be Joyfully recd at my Resurrection and as for my body to be decently Buried according to the discression of my Exectutor

First I Give & bequeath to Hannah my Loving wife all my Goods Cattel & Chattels whatsoever I am now possed of to be & Continue hers so Long as she keeps herself my widdow but & if my wife should marry then my will is than then my wife shall pay to my Three Children Ten Pounds to Each of them to be paid at Her weding day

That is to pay to my son James Rylie ten pounds

And to pay to my son Joseph Rylie ten pound

To pay to my son John Rylie ten pounds

My dets my Funeral Charges all discharged & paid then I give to Hannah my Loving wife all my Goods Cattel & Chattels what so Ever makeing her my sole Executor of this my Last will & testament this thirty first day of August & in the year of the Ld 1758
