Richard Richmond of Long Clawson 1883 Will

This is the last Will and Testament of me Richard Richmond of Long Clawson in the County of Leicester Shoemaker

I give and devise all those my five houses with the gardens outbuildings and appurtenances situate in the parish of Long Clawson aforesaid unto my five children Thomas Richmond Fanny Wiles Amy Wardle Richard Richmond and James Arthur Richmond their heirs and assigns as Tenants in Common

I give to my two Grand children Henry George Richmond and Emma Thorpe the Legacy or sum of Ten pounds each to be paid to them by my Executors hereinafter named and in case the brother should die leaving no child his legacy shall go to his Sister and if the sister should die her eldest child shall take the mother’s share

To my said son Thomas I give my Family Bible and I leave to my said Grand daughter Emma Thorpe my Mahogany Book Case and as to the residue of my personal Estate and Effects whatsoever and wheresoever subject to the payment of my just debts funeral and testamentary expenses and the Legacies by me hereinbefore given I give and bequeath the same unto my said five children share and share alike as Tenants in Common

And lastly I appoint the said Thomas Richmond and James Arthur Richmond joint Executors of this my Will

In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand this Twenty eighth day of August in the year of Our Lord One thousand eight hundred and eighty two

Proved at Leicester on the Twenty first day of June 1883 by the Oaths of Thomas Richmond and James Arthur Richmond the Sons, the Executors to whom Administration was granted

The Testator Richard Richmond was late of Long Clawson in the County of Leicester Shoemaker and died on the Nineteenth day of May 1883 at Long Clawson aforesaid

Gross Personal Estate £59.14.5.  No deduction.
