In the name of God amen the Third of June in the year of our Lord 1710 I John Reeve of Grimston in the County of Leicester Yeoman being sick & weake of body but in perfect mind and memory blessed be God doe make this my last Will & Testament
Imprimis I recommend my Soul to God who gave it & my body to the earth decently to be buryed at the discretion of my Executor not doubting (through the meritorious death of my blessed Saviour) of a Joyfull resurrection
As touching my Estate I bequeath it in manner & form following
Item I give to the Children now born of my Son & Daughter Anthony & Mary Hooton the Sume of ten pounds equally to be devided amongst them & to be paid by my Executor at the Term of four years from the date hereof
Item I give unto my Granchild John Cowley the Sum of one pound to be paid by my Executor at the aforesaid Term of Four years
Item I give to my Grandchild Jane Cowly the Sume of one Pound to be paid as aforesaid
Item I give to my beloved Daughter Ann Burghess the full Sume of eight Pounds
Item I give to Thomas Burgess whom I likewise Constitute & appoint my onely Sole Executor of this my last Will & Testament all other my Goods & Chattls by his solely to be possest & Injoyed And I doe hereby utterly revoke & disanull all & every other former Wills by me in any wayes before this time named willed & bequeath’d
