Ann Read of Nether Broughton 1766 Will

In the name of God Amen I Ann Read of Neather Broughton in the County of Leicester Widdow being sick in Body but of perfect mind and memory (praised be Almighty God for the same) Do make and ordain this My Last Will and Testament in Manner following (that is to say)

First I resign My Soul into the hands of Almighty God Who Gave it me and my Body I commit to the Earth to be Buryed at the Discretion of my Executor hereafter named And as for my Temporal Estate Which it hath pleased Almighty God to bestow upon me I give and Dispose of the same as followeth

First I give and bequeath unto my daughter Mary Leeson of Marfield [sic, Mary Read married John Leeson of Marefield in the Parish of Tylton] in the County of Leicester the Sum of Ten pound to be paid at my Deceace

Also I give and Bequeath unto My Son Samuel Read all the rest and residue of my ready Money Goods Cattle and Chattles Bills Bonds and personal Estate Whatsoever My Debts Legacys and Funeral Expences being first paid and I appoint my Son in Law John Leeson and My Brother in Law John Hill Trustees for my said Son Samuel Read untill he Accomplish the Age of Twenty one years

And I hereby nominate and appoint my son Samuel Read full and Sole Executor of this My last Will and Testament

In Witness Whereof I have hereunto set my hand and Seal this Fourteenth Day of April in the year of our Lord one Thousand seven hundred and fifty seven And in the Thirtieth year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord George the second &c
