William Pitts of Ab Kettleby 1649 Will and Inventory

In the name of God Amen I William Pitts of Abkettlebey in the County of Leicester yeoman being sicke in bodie but of good & perfect memorie praysed be God Doe make this my last Will and Testament in manner following

First I bequeath my soule into the hands of Almightie God my maker with Confidence of my Salvation through Jesus Christ my redeemer

And as Concernginge my wordlie [sic] goods which God hath lent me I bequeath them as followeth

Impris I give and bequeath unto my eldest sonne All my house and land to him & his heires for ever after the decease of my wife and it is my will and minde that if my wife Anne be not Contented to let my said sonne John have halfe the said house & land with her when he Cometh to the age of one & twentie yeares then shee shall paie unto him the sum of tenne pounds

Itm I give unto my sonne Nicholas twentie pounds

Itm I give unto my sonne William twentie pounds

Itm I give unto my servant William Hardey all my working tooles concerning my former trade of a Carpenter except one hammer a whip sawe & a two handed sawe

Itm I give unto my father Nicholas Pitts my best hatt

All the rest of my Goods Cattells & Chattells I give & bequeath unto my loveing wife Anne whom I make sole executrix of this my last will & testament and I make Willm Shepperdson & John Pares Supervisors of this my Will

In witnes whereof I have hereunto put my hand & seale the tenth daie of November in Anno Dni 1648 Annoq Reg Caroli nunc … &c xxiiiito
