In the Name of God Amen I John Pitts of Ab Kettleby in the County of Leicester Mason being sick and weecke in Body But of perfect Mind & Memory praised bee Almighty God for it Doe make and ordeyne this my Last Will and Testament in manner and forme following (that is to say)

Imprimis I Comitt my Soule into the hands of Almighty God hopeing through the Merritts of my alone … and Saviour to bee made partaker of Life Everlasting And as for my Body I Comitt the same to the Earth to bee decently Interred in Such manner As Shall Seeme best to my Extrix hereafter named, And as for my Goods Chattles Cattle and Personall Estate which it hath pleased Almighty God to bestow Upon mee I give devise and bequeath the same in Manner following (vizt)

Item I give Unto my Deare and Loveing Wife Luce all and Singler my Goods chattles Cattle and personall estate whatsoever Which I am possessed of either in Ab Kettleby or els where in in the County of Leicester And I doe make the sd Luce my full & Sole Extrix of this my Last Will and testament Revokeing all former and other Wills whatsoever heretofore made by mee

In Wittnesse whereof I have hereunto putt my hand and Seale the Sixth day of May In the tenth Yeare of the Raigne of our most Gratious Soveraigne Ld William the Third Over England &c Annoq Dni 1698
