This is the last Will and Testament of me William Pick of Ab Kettleby in the County of Leicester Miller

I give and devise unto my Friends William Stevenson Humberstone of Croxton Kerrial in the said County Grazier and William Goodacre of Holwell in the parish of Ab Kettleby aforesaid Butcher All my Messuages Cottages Closes Lands Tenements Hereditaments and Real Estate whatsoever in possession Reversion Remainder Expectancy or otherwise and parts purparts and shares thereof with their respective appurtenances To hold the same unto and to the Use of the said William Stevenson Humberstone and William Goodacre their heirs and assigns for ever Upon Trust that they or the Survivors or Survivor of them his heirs or assigns do and shall as and when they shall respectively think best sell and absolutely dispose of all and singular the said hereditaments and Real Estate either together or in Lots and either by public auction or private Contract for the best price or prices and most money that can be reasonably had or gotten for the same and to any person or persons who shall be willing to become the purchaser or purchasers thereof

And my Will and Mind is that my said Trustees respectively shall stand and be possessed of the monies to arise by such Sale or Sales as also the Rents and profits of the said Hereditaments and Real Estates (if any be) Upon the Trusts and to and for the Ends Intents and purposes hereinafter expressed and declared of and concerning the same

And for facilitating such Sale or Sales as aforesaid my Will and Mind is and I do hereby declare and direct that the receipt or receipts of my said Trustees or the Survivor of them his heirs executors administrators or assigns to the purchaser or purchasers of the said Hereditaments and Real Estate or any part or parts thereof shall be a sufficient discharge and sufficient discharges both at law and Equity to such purchaser or purchasers for so much of his her or their purchase money as shall in such Receipt or Receipts be expressed to have been received And that such purchaser or purchasers shall be absolutely discharged of and from the same and shall not afterwards be answerable or accountable for the Misapplication or Nonapplication of his her or their purchase Money

And I Give and Bequeath unto the said William Stevenson Humbertstone and William Goodacre their Executors Administrators and Assigns All my personal Estate and Effects whatsoever and wheresoever and of what kind or nature soever Upon Trust nevertheless that they or the Survivor of them his executors administrators or assigns do and shall as soon as conveniently may be after my Decease sell and convert into ready money all such part and parts thereof as shall not consist of money or Securities for Money And do and shall call receive and get in all such Part and Parts thereof as shall consist of Money or Securities for Money And do and shall as well thereout as out of the Monies to arise by Sale of my said hereditaments and Real Estate aforesaid in the first place pay and discharge my just Debts Funeral and Testamentary Expenses and deduct and set apart the Sum of Four hundred pounds of lawful money current in Great Britain for the benefit of my mother Mary Pick as hereinafter mentioned and do and shall pay the residue of the said respective monies and premises to my Brother Abraham Pick for his own use

And my will and mind is that the said William Stevenson Humbertsone and William Goodacre and the Survivor of them his executors administrators and assigns shall stand and be possessed of the aforesaid sum of four hundred pounds In Trust to place out and invest the same on Government or Real Security at Interest with power to alter and transpose the Securities from time to time as to my said Trustees shall seem best and to pay the Interest and Dividends of the same Sum of four hundred pounds when and as often as the same shall become due and be received by my said Trustees to my said Mother Mary Pick and her assigns for and during the term of her natural life And from and immediately after her Decease to pay or assign and transfer the said Sum of Four hundred pounds Stocks funds and Securities to my said Brother Abraham Pick for his own use

And I do nominate constitute and appoint the said William Stevenson Humberstone and William Goodacre and my said Brother Abraham Pick Executors of this my last Will and Testament Provided always and my Will and mind is that my said Trustees and Executors shall and may retain and deduct by and out of the monies which by virtue of this my Will shall come to their and each of their hands all such Costs Charges Damages and Expenses as they respectively shall pay sustain expend or be put unto in and about the Execution and performance of the Trusts hereby in them respectively reposed And that they respectively shall be charged and chargeable only with and for his and their own receipts payments acts and wilful defaults And shall not be answerable for any Sums of money other than such as shall actually come to their own hands respectively Nor with or for any loss or diminution of the said Trust monies or any part thereof which may happen in and about the execution of the Trusts hereby in them respectively reposed without their or any of their respective wilful Default

And I do hereby revoke all former and other Wills by me made

In Witness whereof I the said Testator William Pick have to this my last Will and Testament contained in three Sheets of paper set my hand and seal (that is to say) to the first two sheets my hand and to this third and last Sheet my hand and Seal the twenty fifty day of August in the year of our Lord one thousand Eight hundred and Eighteen

Let a Probate be made to William Stevenson Humberstone of Croxton Kerrial in the County of Leicestershire Grazier William Goodacre of Holwell in the said County Butcher and Abraham Pick of Ab Kettleby in the said County Miller and Baker the joint Executors named in the will of the deceased who died upwards of a year since

They having been duly sworn as well to the faithful execution of the will as that the testator’s Goods Chattels and Credits without deducting any debts owing by him therefrom did not amount in value to the Sum of Three Hundred Pounds
