John Pettifor of Scalford 1837 Will

This is the last Will and Testament of me John Pettifor of Scalford in the County of Leicester Victualler that is to say

I give devise and bequeath All my real and personal Estate whatsoever and wheresoever and whether in possession reversion remainder or expectancy unto and to the use of my dear wife Catherine Pettifor her heirs executors administrators and assigns for ever Subject and charged and chargeable with the payment of All my just debts and funeral and testamentary expences and also subject and charged and chargeable with the payment of the sum of Fifty Pounds of lawful money of Great Britain which I give and bequeath to Mary Forrester the Grand-daughter of my said wife to be paid to her immediately after the decease of my said wife

I appoint my said wife sole Executrix of this my Will and I hereby revoke all former Wills by me made and declare this to be my last Will and Testament

In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal the sixth day of November in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and thirty three

Bond, bound Francis Pettifor innkeeper of Scalford, Thomas Pettifor grazier of Stapleford and Thomas Pettifor the younger grazier of Stapleford £600 14 March 1837, condition whereas John Pettifor victualler of Scalford appointed his wife Catherine Pettifor sole executrix and residuary legatee but she died without proving the will, bound Francis Pettifor son and sole Executor of Catherine Pettifor and administrator of John Pettifor to produce inventory and administer estate
