This is the last Will and Testament of me William Parks of Long Clawson in the County of Leicester Tailor as follows

First I direct all my just debts funeral and testamentary expences to be fully paid

I Give Devise and bequeath All those three Tenements or Dwellinghouses with the yard gardens (including a piece of Land I lately purchased of John Hand) and outbuildings situate and being in Long Clawson aforesaid in the several occupations of myself John Brown and James Williams with their Appurtenances And also all my household goods and furniture chattels ready money securities for money book debts and all other my personal Estate and Effects whatsoever of which I shall died possessed unto my Neice Mary Parks (the Daughter of my Brother Henry Parks of Barkstone in the said County of Leicester) her heirs executors administrators and assigns for ever Subject nevertheless to and chargeable with the Payments of the three following

I give and bequeath unto my said Brother Henry Parks the sum of twenty Pounds Unto my Nephew George Parks the Son of the said Henry Parks the like Sum of twenty Pounds And unto my relation George Watchorn of Long Clawson aforesaid Labourer the Sum of ten Pounds which said several Legacies I direct shall be paid by my said Niece at the end of twelve Months after my decease

And Lastly I do hereby appoint my said Neice Mary Parks sole Executrix of this my last Will and Testament hereby revokeing all former Wills by me made

In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this nineteenth day of April one thousand eight hundred and twenty six

Administration of estate of William Parks granted to Henry Parks of Barkston Cottager father and sole Administrator of  Estate of Mary Parks late of Barkston Spinster who was niece and sole executrix and residuary legatee of William Parks deceased, Henry Parks having been sworn to administer estate of William Parks and that goods, chattels and credits of William Parks without deducting any debts owing by deceased therefrom did not amount to £100

Know all Men by these Presents That We Henry Parks of Barkston in the County of Leicester Cottager and John Shipman of Stathern in the County of Leicester Grocer and William Greenwood Junior of the aforesaid Parish Gentleman are held and firmly bound to William Battine Doctor of Laws Vicar General and Official Principal of the Right Reverend Father in God John by Divine permission Lord Bishop of Lincoln lawfully Constituted in the Sum of Two hundred Pounds of Good and lawful Money of Great Britain To be paid to the said Vicar General and Official Principal or his certain Attorney Executors Administrators or Assigns for the true Payment whereof we bind ourselves and each and every of us by himself for the whole our and each and every of our Heirs Executors and Administrators and every of them firmly by these Presents Sealed with our Seals Dated this sixteenth day of June in the first Year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord William the Fourth by the Grace of God of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland King Defender of the Faith &c and in the Year of our Lord One Thousand Eight Hundred and thirty one

The Condition of this Obligation is such that if the above bounden Henry Parks the natural and lawful Father and Administrator of all and singular the Goods Chattels and Credits of Mary Parks late of Barkston aforesaid Spinster deceased who whilst living was the Niece and the sole Executrix and the sole residuary Legatee named in the last will and Testament of William Parks late of Long Clawson in the County and Archdeaconry of Leicester Tailor deceased And also Administrator with the Will annexed of all and singular the Goods Chattels and Credits of the said William Parks deceased which have or shall come to his hands possession or knowledge And the same so made do exhibit or cause to be exhibited into the Registry of the Consistory in Court of Leicester for the Archdeaconry of Leicester on or before the last day of September next ensuing and the same goods chattels and Credits do well and truly administer (that is to say) do pay the debts of the said William Parks deceased which he did owe at his decease and then the legacies contained and specified In the said Will annexed to the said Letters of Administration so to him committed as far as his Goods Chattels and Credits will thereto … and the law charge him And further do make, or cause to be made, a true and just account of his said Administration when he shall be thereunto lawfully required.  And all the rest and residue of the said Goods chattels and Credits which shall be found remaining upon his said account (and not otherwise disposed of in the said Will) the same being first examined and allowed of by the Judge of the said Court for the time being, shall distribute and dispose of in such a manner and form as shall be limited by the discretion of the said Judge And Lastly do at all times hereafter clearly acquit discharge and save harmless the within named Vicar General and Official Principal the said Judge and all other officers of the said Court against all persons having or pretending to have any right title or interest unto the Good chattels and Credits of the said deceased Then this Obligation to be void and of none effect, or else to remain in full force and virtue

Form of the Oath to be administered to Mr Henry Parks laying this Hand on the Bible or New Testament

You shall swear that so far as you know or believe the Writing hereto annexed contained the last Will and Testament of William Park late of Long Clawson in the County and Archdeaconry of Leicester Tailor deceased That Mary Parks the Niece of the said deceased and the sole Executrix and residuary Legatee named in the said last Will and Testament survived the said deceased and afterwards died without having proved the said Will That you are the natural and lawful Father and the sole Administrator of all and singular the goods chattels and credits of the said Mary Parks deceased and that you will well and truly administer all and singular the goods chattels and credits of the said William Parks deceased according to the tenor and effect of the said Will by paying his debts (if any be) and the legacies contained and specified in the said Will so far as such goods chattels and credits will thereto extend and the law require and that you will exhibit or cause to be exhibited into the Registry of the Consistory Court of Lincoln for the Archdeaconry of Leicester a true and perfect Inventory of all and singular the said William Parks deceased’s Goods Chattels and Credits and render and pass a just and true account of your acting therein when you shall be thereunto lawfully required And lastly you make Oath that all the Goods Chattels and Credits of the said William Parks deceased without deducting any debts owing by him therefrom do not amount in Value to the Sum of One hundred Pounds and that the contents of the Affidavit hereto annexed and to which you have subscribed your Name were and are true to the best of your knowledge and belief

So help you God

On the sixteenth day of June 1831 the above named Henry Parks was duly sworn to the truth of the aforegoing Affidavit
