This is the last Will and Testament of me The Reverend Thomas Parke Rector of Stathern in the County of Leicester

Whereas there is now standing in the names of the Rector and Churchwardens of the Parish of Stathern aforesaid one hundred pounds stock of new South Sea annuities the interest whereof is applied for the purpose of instructing and educating the poor children belonging to the said Parish of Stathern I do order and direct my executors hereinafter named to lay out and invest such sum of money as will produce twenty shillings yearly in the purchase of New South Sea annuities in the names of the Rector and Churchwardens of Stathern for the time being the yearly interest and dividends whereof I will and direct shall be for ever paid and applied to and for the same uses intents and purposes as the interest and dividends of the said one hundred pounds stock of new South Sea annuities are now or shall be applied by the Rector and Churchwardens of Stathern aforesaid for the time being

I give and bequeath unto my Nephew William Greenwood son of my sister Agnes Greenwood all my household furniture plate linen and all other my effects whatsoever which may be in or about the Parsonage House at Stathern to and for his absolute use and disposal

I give and bequeath unto my faithful Servant Elizabeth Wade all my household furniture plate linen and all other my household effects whatsoever which may be in or about my dwellinghouse at Stamford to and for her absolute use and also the sum of fifty pounds

I give unto my Nephew Rowland Parke the son of my late Brother Rowland Parke the sum of fifty pounds as an acknowledgement for the trouble he will have in the execution of this my will and I also give to my said Nephew Rowland Parke my octagon gold ring which I wish to be considered as a memorial of my regard for him and also my Mare if living at the time of my decease and also my Gold Watch Books and Manuscripts

I give to my friend James Torkington of Stamford in the County of Lincoln Gentleman the sum of fifty pounds which said three legacies of fifty pounds I direct to be paid within six months next after my decease

And as to all the Rest Residue and Remainder of my money and securities for money stock in the public funds and all other my personal estate whatsoever and wheresoever not hereinbefore disposed of I give and bequeath the same unto my said Nephew Rowland Parke and my said friend James Torkington upon trust to convert such part thereof into money as may not be in money and pay and apply the same upon such trusts and to and for such uses intents and purposes as are hereinafter by me direct given or appointed (that is to say)

I do hereby direct the said Rowland Parke and James Torkington and the survivor of them his executors and administrators in the first place to pay all my just debts funeral and testamentary expences and subject thereto I will and direct the said Rowland Parke and James Torkington and the survivor of them his executors and administrators to put and place out at interest so much of my said residuary personal estate as will produce the clear annual sum of twenty pounds on real or government security or securities and call in remove and replace the same or any part thereof as they the said Rowland Parke and James Torkington and the survivor of them his executors or administrators shall see occasion and stand possessed thereof in trust to pay and apply from and out of the interest and dividends thereof one annuity or annual payment of twenty pounds unto my said Servant Elizabeth Wade for and during the term of her natural life by two equal half yearly payments the first payment thereof to commence and be made at the expiration of six months next after my decease

And subject to the said annuity of twenty pounds to my said Servant Elizabeth Wade I will and direct the said Rowland Parke and James Torkington and the survivor of them his executors or administrators to put and place out at interest one eighth part or share of all my said residuary personal estate on real or government security or securities or in the parliamentary stocks or public funds of Great Britain and call in remove or replace the same or any part thereof as they the said Rowland Parke and James Torkington and the survivor of them his executors or administrators shall see occasion and stand and be possessed thereof in trust to pay and apply the dividends interest and yearly produce of the said one eighth part of my said residuary personal estate stocks funds and securities as the same shall arise and become due unto my Nephew Bartholomew Bradshaw eldest son of my late sister Margaret Bradshaw and his assigns for and during the term of his natural life and from and after his decease I will and direct the said Roland Parke and James Torkington and the Survivor of them his executors or administrators to pay the said one eighth part or share of my said residuary personal estate unto my two Nephews Rowland Bradshaw and Matthew Bradshaw two other sons of my said sister Margaret Bradshaw to and for their absolute use and disposal in equal shares and proportions and I give and bequeath the same to them accordingly

And I further will and direct the said Rowland Parke and James Torkington and survivor of them his executors or administrators to pay one other eighth part or share of my said residuary personal estate unto my said two Nephews Rowland Bradshaw and Matthew Bradshaw to and for their absolute use and disposal in equal shares and proportions and in case the said Rowland Bradshaw shall not be living at the time of my decease I will and direct my said trustees and the survivor of them his executors or administrators to pay and apply the shares which the said Rowland Bradshaw would be entitled to of the two eighth parts of my said residuary personal estate unto and between his sixe children videlicet Elizabeth the wife of [blank] Lupton Thomas Bradshaw Barbara the wife of [blank] Wilkinson John Bradshaw Matthew Bradshaw and Bartholomew Bradshaw to and for their absolute use and disposal share and share alike and I will and direct my said trustees and the survivor of them his executors or administrators to stand possessed of the shares to which the said Matthew Bradshaw and Bartholomew Bradshaw two of the children of the said Rowland Bradshaw may be entitled to and shall apply the interest and dividends thereof to and for their use and benefit unto they shall attain the age of twenty years and as and when they shall attain that age I direct my said trustees and the survivor of them his executors or administrators to pay and apply the shares to which they may be entitled to as aforesaid unto them the said Matthew Bradshaw and Bartholomew Bradshaw to and for their own use absolutely

And I also will and direct the said Rowland Parke and James Torkington and the survivor of them his executors or administrators to pay two eighth parts or shares of my said residuary personal estate unto and between my Nephews Joseph Parkinson Thomas Parkinson Rowland Parkinson William Parkinson John Parkinson and my Niece Ann Parkinson the children of my late sister Mary Parkinson in equal shares and proportions to and for their and each of their respective and absolute use and disposal and in case any or either of them the said Joseph Parkinson Thomas Parkinson Rowland Parkinson William Parkinson John Parkinson and Ann Parkinson shall depart this life in my life time then I will and direct that the share or shares of him her or them so dying shall go and be paid to the survivors or survivor of them to and for his her or their absolute use and disposal and I give and bequeath the same to them accordingly

I will and direct the said Rowland Parke and James Torkington and the survivor of them his executors or administrators to pay assign and transfer the remaining four eighth parts of my said residuary personal estate in manner following (that is to say)

One eighth part thereof unto my Nephew Thomas Parke of Lock Villa in the County of Lancaster Gentleman to and for his absolute use

One other eighth part thereof unto my two Nieces Jane Wright the Wife of Thomas Wright and her sister Emma who is married but the name of her husband I do not know which two Nieces Jane Wright and Emma are the two daughters of my late brother Rowland Parke to be equally divided between them share and share alike to and for their absolute use and disposal

One other eighth part thereof unto my said Nephew William Greenwood for his absolute use

And the remaining eighth part thereof unto the said Rowland Parke to and for his absolute use and disposal

And I do direct the said Rowland Parke and James Torkington and the survivor of them his executors and administrators to pay those parts or shares of my said residuary personal estate and trust monies as will be payable at the time of my death within twelve months next after my decease

And I do nominate and appoint the said Rowland Parke and James Torkington Executors of this my last Will and Testament hereby revoking all former Wills Codicils and Testamentary dispositions by me at any time heretofore made and I will and declare that they the said Rowland Parke and James Torkington or either of them their or any or either of their executors or administrators shall not be chargeable with or accountable for more of the trust monies than they or either of them shall actually receive or shall come to their respective hands by virtue of this my will or for any loss which may happen without their wilful default nor the one for the other or others of them or for the acts defaults or disbursements of the other or others of them and that it shall and may be lawful to and for the said Rowland Parke and James Torkington and their and each of their executors and administrators in the first place by and out of the premises respectively to deduct and reimburse themselves respectively all such loss costs charges and expences as he she or they shall sustain expend or be put unto for or by reason of the performance of this my will or the trusts hereby in them reposed or the management or execution thereof or any thing relating thereto

In Witness whereof I the said Thomas Parke the Testator have to this my last Will and Testament written on five sheets of paper to each of the said sheets set my hand and to the first and last my hand and seal the twenty seventh day of January in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and thirty seven
