William Palmer of Hose 1813 Will

I William Palmer of Hose in the County of Leicester Farmer do make this my last Will & Testament as hereafter named

In the first place I give and bequeath to my Daughter Catharine Palmer one Bed and Bedstead with all the articles thereunto belonging now standing in the best Chamber to be claimed any time after my decease

All the rest, remainder or residue of my property whatsoever or wheresoever I give and devise unto my beloved wife during her natural life or day of marriage subject however to the following conditions

Should my Wife marry my will & intention is that at her marriage my personal & Real property of what nature or kind soever or wheresoever shall be equally divided amongst my surviving Children share & share alike but provided she continues my widow for her to have the sole benefit thereof during her natural life and at her decease to be equally divided amongst my surviving children share & share alike

And further I nominate constitute and appoint Thomas Brewster and Henry Mantle Farmers Trustees for my Children they being at present resident in the Parish of Hose

I likewise order and appoint that my three Children, viz, Thomas, Samuel and Alice, provided my wife dies or marries before Alice the youngest arrives at the age of sixteen years that a provision shall be made from the said Property of five pounds in the year additional to Thomas, Samuel & Alice till they arrive at the age of sixteen respectively

And lastly I do hereby make, ordain constitute and appoint my said wife Elizabeth Palmer sole Executrix of this my last will & testament, hereby revoking all other Wills & Testaments by me at any time heretofore made

In witness whereof I have to this my last Will & Testament set and subscribed my hand and seal this second day of February one thousand eight hundred and thirteen

Let probat be granted to Elizabeth Palmer of Hose in the County of Leicester widow sole Executrix within named She the said Elizabeth Palmer being duly sworn as well to the faithful execution of the will as that the Testor’s goods chattels & credits do not amount in value to the sum of two hundred pounds
