This is the last Will and Testament of me Richard Palmer of Eaton in the County of Leicester Butcher

I will and direct that all and every my just debts funeral and testamentary expenses shall be paid by my Executors hereinafter named as soon as conveniently may be after my decease

I Give and Bequeath unto my Uncle Thomas Matthews of Branstone in the said County of Leicester Yeoman the Legacy or sum of Fifty pounds

I also give and bequeath unto my nephew Richard Cheshire the Legacy or Sum of Ten pounds which I direct shall be placed in the Savings Bank at Grantham by my said Executors and paid to him with all the accumulations of Interest when he shall attain the age of Twenty one years

And whereas I occupy a Cottage and about nine acres of Land at Eaton aforesaid which was formerly in the occupation of Mary Short Spinster belonging to His Grace the Duke of Rutland now my will is that the same may be given up to the said Mary Short at the Lady day next after my decease And that the sum of Twenty four pounds which I stand indebted to her may be paid to her at the same time

And as to for and concerning the rest residue and remainder of my personal Estate and effects whatsoever and wheresoever I give and bequeath the same unto my Father George Palmer my Brothers William Palmer George Palmer and John Palmer and my Sisters Sarah the Wife of Richard Harding Elizabeth the Wife of Robert Cheshire and Ann the Wife of William Shields to be equally divided between them share and share alike as Tenants in Common

And I appoint the said Thomas Matthews and my Brother the said William Palmer joint Executors of this my Will and hereby revoking all former and other Wills by me at any time heretofore made I do declare this only to be my last Will and Testament

In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal the first day of May in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and thirty seven
