Thomas Newcome of Long Clawson 1866 Will

This is the last Will and Testament of me Thomas Newcome of Long Clawson in the County of Leicester Farmer

I Give devise and bequeath all my real and personal Estate and Effects whatsoever and wheresoever unto my dear Wife Jane and her assigns for and during the term of her Natural life if she shall so long continue my Widow And from and after her decease or second marriage which shall first happen I Give devise and bequeath my said real and personal Estate and Effects unto all my children (except my eldest Son in case the event hereinafter mentioned should not take place) their heirs executors administrators and assigns share and share alike as Tenants in common And I declare the same to be vested Interests in them immediately after my decease

And whereas my said Wife is entitled as Tenant in tail to certain estates at Scalford in the said County of Leicester which will descend to my said Eldest Son as heir at Law and which I consider as a sufficient provision for him But in case such estates should happen to be disposed of by me and by said Wife during our joint lives or by my said Wife in case she should happen to survive me Then and in such case my said eldest son shall take an equal share with the rest of my said children in the real and personal Estate and Effects by me hereinbefore given and bequeathed

I charge the payment of my just debts funeral and testamentary expenses on my said personal Estate and direct them to be paid by my Executrix hereinafter named as soon as conveniently may be after my decease

And Lastly I appoint my said Wife Sole Executrix of this my Will

Proved at Leicester the seventh day of September 1866 by the oath of Jane Newcome Widow the Relict of the deceased the Sole Executrix to whom Administration was granted

The Testator Thomas Newcome was late of Long Clawson in the County of Leicester Farmer and died on the eighteenth day of May 1866 at Long Clawson aforesaid
