This is the Last Will and Testament of me Henry Morris of Saxelby in the County of Leicester Farmer

I revoke all Wills and Testamentary dispositions heretofore made by me

I Appoint my wife Julia Morris and Frederick William Shouler of Melton Mowbray in the said County of Leicester Auctioneer to be the Executors and Trustees of this my Will and I Give to him the said Frederic William Shouler a legacy of Fifty pounds free from legacy [“duty” missing] if he shall prove this my Will

I Devise all my copyhold and freehold hereditaments and premises situate at Chadwell cum Wycomb in the said County of Leicester unto and to the use of the said Julia Morris and Frederic William Shouler their heirs executors and administrators and assigns (hereinafter conjointly called my Trustees) Upon trust (subject to the payments relating thereto hereinafter mentioned) to pay the income arising therefrom to my son Henry Morris until he shall attain the age of twenty five years and upon his attaining that age of twenty five years In trust for my said son Henry Morris absolutely subject to the Mortgage or Mortgages and interest or interest existing thereon at the time of my decease and also subject to the balance of principal sum of One thousand two hundred pounds and interest secured in and by a mortgage or mortgages by myself of the one part and Sarah White Thomas Keyworth White and Robert Cecil Cooper of the other part on part of my property at Scalford and Chadwell cum Wycomb aforesaid part of which said property is hereinafter devised to or for the benefit of my son Thomas Morris

I Devise all my freehold estate at Scalford in the said County of Leicester unto and to the use of my Trustees Upon Trust to pay the income arising therefrom to my said son Thomas William Morris until he shall attain the age of Twentyfive years and upon his attaining that age of twentyfive years In Trust for my said son Thomas William Morris absolutely subject to the Mortgage or Mortgages and interest or interests existing thereon at the time of my decease but not subject to and with the exception of any payments for principal or interest under the hereinbefore to mortgage or mortgages made between myself of the one part and Sarah White Thomas Keyworth White and Robert Cecil Cooper of the other part

I Devise all my Freehold close of land situate at Broughton Sulney on the borders of Counties of Leicester and Nottingham and also my Freehold estate at Hoby in the said County of Leicester unto and to the use of my Trustees Upon Trust to pay the income arising therefrom to my son John Morris until he shall attain the age of twentyfive years and upon his attaining that age to twenty five years In Trust for my said son John Morris absolutely subject to the Mortgage or Mortgages and interest or interests existing thereon at the time of my decease and also subject to the payment of an annuity of Two hundred pounds to be payable to my said wife Julia Morris for her life and further also subject to the payment of an annuity of Fifty pounds to my daughter Julia Morris for the remainder of her life as and from the date of the death of my said wife Julia Morris if my said daughter Julia Morris shall survive her my said wife Julia Morris

I Devise my house shop and premises situate in the Market Place Melton Mowbray aforesaid and now in the occupation of Emma Morris unto and to the use of my Trustees Upon Trust to pay the income arising therefrom to my said daughter Julia Morris until she shall attain the age of twenty five years and upon her attaining that age of twenty five years In trust for my said daughter Julia Morris absolutely subject to the Mortgage or Mortgages and interest or interest existing thereon at the time of my decease

I Devise my house dairy and premises including the Butchers Shop situate at Stathern in the said County of Leicester unto and to the use of my Trustees Upon trust to pay the income arising therefrom to my said daughter Julia Morris for her life and after her decease In trust for the issue of her body in equal shares as Tenants in Common and in default of any such issue surviving her In further trust for the children of my said sons Henry Morris Thomas William Morris and John Morris in equal shares as Tenants in Common

I Devise and Bequeath to my said wife Julia Morris all the rest residue and remainder of my real and personal estate of whatsoever nature or description and wheresoever situate absolutely subject to the following payments that is to say:-

Firstly that she shall pay all my funeral and testamentary expenses and debts

Secondly that she shall pay to my Trustees the sum of Four thousand five hundred pounds to be held by them in trust for Henrietta Sarah Morris Herring Martha Elizabeth Herring and William Henry Herring the reputed children of Elizabeth Herring all of Wycomb aforesaid in equal shares each child to receive his or her share on attaining respectively the age of twentyfive years until which age shall for this my Will be considered a minority The income of the said sum of Four thousand five hundred pounds or the proportionate part thereof for the time being remaining unpaid during the respective minorities of the said children shall be paid to the said Elizabeth Herring and in case any one or more the said children shall die before attaining the said age of twentyfive years then his her or their share shall be paid to the said Elizabeth Herring and in the event of the said Elizabeth Herring predeceasing any of the said children and having received one or more shares in the said sum of Four thousand five hundred pounds such share or shares shall be divided equally between the survivor or survivors of the said Henrietta Sarah Morris Herring Martha Elizabeth Herring and William Henry Herring And should it be inconvenient for my said wife Julia Morris to raise the said sum of Four thousand five hundred pounds at my decease then she shall pay interest thereon to my Trustees at the rate of Five pounds per centum per annum until such sum of Four thousand five hundred pounds shall be raised and paid to my Trustees

Thirdly to pay to my cousin Mabel Morris of Saxelby aforesaid a legacy of Two hundred pounds free from legacy duty

Fourthly to pay an annuity of Twenty pounds for life to Elizabeth Morris the widow of my brother Thomas Morris

Fifthly to pay to my sister in law Elizabeth Jane Clark of Chadwell-cum-Wycomb aforesaid a legacy of Five hundred pounds free from legacy duty

And Also to pay to the said Frederic William Shouler such costs as he may incur in connection with the general conduct and winding up of my estate such costs I direct in manner following that is to say the said Frederic William Shouler shall have full power to act as an Auctioneer for or in relation to my estate or to my Executors or Executor or Trustees or Trustee for the time being and shall be entitled to charge for and shall be paid for all work done by him as such Auctioneer in the same manner as if he had not been an Executor or Trustee

This is a Codicil to the last Will and Testament of me Henry Morris of Saxelby in the County of Leicester Farmer such Will being dated and signed by me on the second day of July one thousand nine hundred and seventeen

Whereas In and by my said Will I appointed Frederic William Shouler of Melton Mowbray in the said County of Leicester to be one of my Executors and Trustees and thereby gave to him a certain legacy of Fifty pounds and empowered him to act and charge for all matters connected with my estate and the general winding up and disposition thereof Now I Hereby Revoke the appointment as aforesaid of the said Frederic William Shouler the legacy to him as aforesaid and the general matters of my said Will as may refer to the said Frederick William Shouler And I Hereby Appoint William Harwood of Melton Mowbray aforesaid Auctioneer to be an Executor and Trustee of my said Will in the place of the said Frederic William Shouler and the said William Harwood shall receive the legacy of Fifty pounds as aforesaid instead of the said Frederick William Shouler and shall act and charge in a similar manner as if the said Frederic William Shouler had continued to act as my Trustee and executor as aforesaid

In all other respects I confirm my said Will

This is a Second Codicil to the last Will and Testament of me Henry Morris of Saxelby in the County of Leicester Farmer which Will bears date the second day of July one thousand nine hundred and seventeen and the first Codicil thereto bears date the sixteenth day of April one thousand nine hundred and nineteen

Whereas in and by my said Will I have devised and bequeathed to my Trustees Four thousand five hundred pounds in trust for Henrietta Sarah Morris Herring, Martha Elizabeth Herring and William Henry Herring in equal shares now I Devise a further sum of Three thousand pounds to such bequest making a total of Seven thousand five hundred pounds to such beneficiaries and upon the same terms and conditions

And Whereas in and by my first Codicil I have appointed William Harwood of Melton Mowbray in the said County of Leicester Auctioneer to be an Executor and Trustee of my said Will in the place of Frederic William and I directed that the said William Harwood should receive a legacy of Fifty pounds as in my said Will aforesaid directed instead of the said Frederic William Shouler and I made certain directions as to empowering him to act and charge for services to be rendered Now I hereby instead of bequeathing the said sum of Fifty pounds to the said William Harwood bequeath to him the sum of One hundred pounds and I direct that apart from that sum the charge or charges that he will make in connection with my estate shall go and be to and for the benefit of the Melton Mowbray and District Farmers Association in whose service he is

In All other respects I confirm my said Will and Codicil
