Joseph Moore of Harby 1764 Will

In the Name of God Amen I Joseph Moore of Harby in the County of Leicester Farmer being of Sound and Disposing Mind and Memory (for which I bless God) Do this fifth day of July in the year of our Lord one Thousand Seven hundred and Sixty two make and ordain this my last Will and Testament in Manner following (that is to say)

First I Desire to be Decently Buried at the Discretion of my Executrix hereinafter named

I Give and Devise unto my Loveing Wife Frances All and Every my Lands and Hereditaments with the Comons and other appurtenances thereunto belonging Lying and being Dispersedly in the Comon and open fields Libertyes precincts and Territoryes of Hose in the said County of Leicester or Elsewhere And all my Estate right Title and Interest therein To hold the same unto my Said Wife Frances for and during the Term of her Natural Life

And from and after her decease I Give and Devise the same Lands Hereditament Commons and premises with their and Every of their appurts unto my Nephew Joseph Moore this heirs and assignes for Ever and to and for none other use intent or purpose whatsoever

I Give and bequeath unto my Brother Edward Moore the Sume of five Shillings

I Give and bequeath unto my Brother John Moore the Like Sume of five Shillings

I Give and bequeath unto Anne Shelton (my Wife’s Sister) the Sume of five pounds

I Give and bequeath unto my Neice Anne the wife of Thomas Rowe of Newton in the County of Lincoln farmer the Sume of Twenty Shillings

All Which Said Legacys I Do hereby direct Shall be paid within Twelve Months next after my Decease

I Give and bequeath unto my Nephew Thomas Moore of Tollerton in the County of Nottingham the Sume of Ten pounds to be paid to him at his Age of Twenty one years

I Give and bequeath unto my Brother William Moore my wearing apparel of What Nature or kind Soever

All the rest and residue of my Good Chattles and personal Estate Whatsoever Wheresoever or of what Nature kind or Quality Soever (after payment of my Just Debts Legacys and Funeral Expences) I Give and bequeath the Same and Every part thereof unto my Said Loveing Wife Frances Whom I Do hereby make ordain Constitute and appoint Sole Executrix of this my last Will and Testament hereby revokeing all other Will and Wills by me at any time heretofore made and I Do declare this to be my last Will and Testament
