Charles Milnes of Nether Broughton 1893 Will

Leicestershire, Leicester and Rutland Wills DE 462/36

This is the last Will and Testament of me Charles Milnes of Nether Broughton in the County of Leicester Bricklayer

I appoint my son Leonard Milnes and my son in law William Askew Joiner Executors and Trustees of his my Will

I give all the household furniture and effects in and about my dwellinghouse to my Daughter Louisa Milnes for her use absolutely

All my Real Estate and the residue of my personal estate I give to my Trustees upon trust after keeping all buildings repaired and Insured and paying the Interest of the Charge hereinafter mentioned

Subject to the preceding I give my freehold property in Chapel Street Nether Broughton which I lately bought of the devisees of the Revd John Noble to my son Leonard Milnes charged with the repayment in any event of the sum of Four hundred and twenty pounds advanced to me by my daughter Fanny Milnes (and now) Fanny Askew, when I bought the said Property

Subject as aforesaid I direct my  trustees to sell and convert all the residue of my real and personal estate and to divide the net proceeds equally between my sons and Daughters living at my death and the children of such of them as shall have previously died leaving Children such Children to take the parents share

All gifts to females shall be for their separate use

Six months time to be allowed the trustees after my Decease to sell and divide my property & effects

As Witness my hand and seal the second day of August 1884

Signed by the testator as his last Will in the presence of us who in his presence at his request and in the presence of each other have hereto subscribed our names as Witnesses

Proved at Leicester on the fourteenth day of March 1893 by the Oaths of Leonard Milnes the son, and William Askew the Executors to whom Administration was granted

The Testator Charles Milnes was late of Nether Broughton in the County of Leicester Bricklayer and died on the seventh day of January 1893 at Nether Broughton aforesaid

Personal Estate Gross £150.14.0.  No deduction
