Henry Marriott of Long Clawson 1824 Will

In the name of God Amen This is the last Will and Testament of me Henry Marriott of Claxton otherwise Long Clawson in the County of Leicester Grazier

First I give and devise All my Messuage or Tenement Closes Lands Hereditaments and real Estate situate and being in Claxton otherwise Long Clawson aforesaid or elsewhere unto my loving Wife Elizabeth Marriott for and during the Term of her natural Life and from and immediately after her decease I give and devise the same and every part thereof unto my Son Daniel Marriott and his Heirs and Assigns for ever Subject nevertheless to and charged and chargeable and I do hereby charge the same with the true payment of the sum of two hundred pounds which I hereby give and bequeath to my Daughter Elizabeth Marriott to be paid to her within twelve calendar Months next after the decease of my said Wife And also further charged in like manner with the true payment of one hundred pounds a piece to my Sons Gregory Marriott and John Marriott and my Daughter Mary Abbot which I hereby give and bequeath to each of them and to be paid to each of them likewise within twelve calendar Months next after the decease of my said Wife

And I give and bequeath to my said Wife such and so much of my Household Furniture Plate and Linen (not herein by me disposed of) as she shall select out and choose not exceeding one hundred pounds in value at a fair appraisement to be delivered to her within ten days next after my decease

Also I give and bequeath to my said Wife the sum of thirty pounds to be paid to her by my Executor herein named within ten days next after my decease

And I give and bequeath to my said Daughter Elizabeth Marriott the further sum of two hundred pounds to be paid to her by my Executor herein appointed within twelve calendar Months next after my decease

Also I give and bequeath to my said Daughter Elizabeth Marriott my Bed in the white Room and all the Bed Furniture used therewith and all my Plate marked with EM to be delivered to her within ten days after my decease

And the Residue and Remainder of my Goods Chattels Cattle ready Money Securities for Money and all my personal Estate whatsoever and wheresoever not hereinbefore disposed of I give and bequeath to my said Son Daniel Marriott subject to the payment of all my just Debts my Testamentary and Funeral expences and I do hereby make and ordain  my said Son Daniel Marriott whole and sole Executor of this my last Will and Testament and I do hereby revoke all former Wills by me and ratify and declare this and none other to be my last Will and Testament

In Witness whereof I the said Henry Marriott the Testator have to this my said last Will and Testament set my hand and seal this twenty third day of February in the year of our Lord One thousand eight hundred and twenty two

Signed sealed published and declared by the within mentioned Henry Marriott the Testator as and for his last Will and Testament in the presence of us who at his request in his presence and in the presence of each other have subscribed our names to the due execution thereof

Let a probat be made to Daniel Marriott of Long Clawson in the County of Leicester farmer the sole Executor named in the will of the within named Henry Marriott who died 3 May 1824

He being duly sworn as well to the faithful Execution of the will as that the Testators Goods Chattels & Credits as they were at his death without deducting any Debts owing by him therefrom do not amount in value to the sum of Six hundred pounds
