In the name of god Amen the xxiith day of November in the yeare of our lord god 1598 I Robt Man of Hickling in the vale in the Countie of Nottingham being sicke in bodie and of good and perfect Remembrance (god be thanked therefore) do ordeyne and make this my last will and testament in manner and forme following

First I bequeath my soule into the hands of Almightie god and my bodie to be buryed within the churchyard of Hickling

Itm I give to my two brethren John Man the younger and George Man the parts and porcons of all my land so longe as they two live and to there heires males lawfullie begotten for ever, and for lacke of heires male I give to George Man the sonne of Stephen Man of Hickling and Robt Man the sonne of John Man of Flintham the same land and to their heires for ever

Also I give the tytle of this farme with the residue of my goods to my two brethren John Man the younger and George Man whom I make my full and ioynt Executors they paying … … legacies to George Dafte Willm Man Stephen Man John Man the elder and Thomas Harris my brother in lawe to every of them twentie shillings and to Jane Dafte sixtene pounds whereof six pounds is in her fathers hands
