Joshua Mann of Eaton 1795 Will

In the Name of God, Amen, I Joshua Mann of Eaton in the County of Leicester Yeoman being of sound mind Memory and Understanding do make this my last Will and Testament in Manner following (that is to say)

First I will that all my just Debts and Funeral Expences shall be Paid by my Executrix hereinafter Named

I Give and bequeath unto my Brother John Mann the Sum of Ten Pounds

I also give and bequeath unto my Kinsman George Mann the Sum of Ten Pounds

I also give and bequeath unto my Niece Ann the wife of William Moore the Sum of Five Pounds

I also give and bequeath unto my Niece Alice Scoffield the Sum of Five Pounds

I also give and bequeath unto my Niece Elizabeth the wife of Thomas Needham the Sum of Five Pounds

I also give and bequeath unto my Sister Ann Bampton the Sum of Five Pounds

I also give under my Cousin Hannah Doubleday one Shilling

I also give unto my Brother Thomas Mann one Shilling

All which said Legacies I will shall be Paid within Twelve Calendar Months next after my Decease

I also give and Bequeath unto my great Niece Jane Howson Spinster the Sum of Ten Pounds to be Paid to her when she shall attain the Age of Twenty one Years

And I do hereby charge my Messuage or Tenement hereinafter by me given and devised with the Payment of the said Legacies and every Part thereof

I Give and Devise All that my Messuage or Tenement with the Appurtenances situate and being in Grantham in the County of Lincoln in a Street or Place there called the High Street as the same is now in the Tenure or Occupation of Ralph Allen or his Assigns unto Mary Short Spinster who resides with me in my House at Eaton aforesaid her Heirs and Assigns for Ever Subject nevertheless to the Payment of the several Legacies hereinbefore by me given and charged thereon and also Subject to the Payment of the Principal and Interest due to James Garner of Grantham aforesaid Gentleman upon a Mortgage thereof

And as to all the Rest and Residue of my Goods Chattells ready Money Securities for Money and all other my personal Estate whatsoever not by me hereinbefore otherwise disposed of I give and bequeath the same and every Part thereof unto the said Mary Short to and for her own Use and Benefit whom I do hereby nominate and appoint sole Executrix of this my Last Will and Testament hereby revoking all former and other Wills by me at any Time heretofore made

In Witness whereof I have to two Parts of this my Last Will and Testament (both in the same Words Tenour and Form) set my Hand and Seal this Sixth Day of July in the Year of our Lord one Thousand seven Hundred and Ninety three
