This is the last Will and Testament of George Mann of Edmondthorpe in the County of Leicester Grazier as follows

First I direct all my just debts Legacies Funeral and Testamentary Expences to be fully paid

I give and bequeath all my household goods other goods stock chattels Cattle and personal Estate and effects whatsoever and wheresoever and of what nature kind or quality soever of which I shall die possessed unto William Palmer of Wymondham in the said County of Leicester Independent Minister Samuel Henton of Wymondham aforesaid Grazier and my nephew George Mann Son of my Brother William Mann their executors administrators and assigns Upon the trusts and for the several uses hereinafter expressed and declared that is to say

Upon trust that they the said William Palmer Samuel Henton and George Mann my Nephew or the survivor of them or the executors or administrators of such survivor do and shall as soon as conveniently after my decease absolutely sell and dispose of and convert into money All such part of my said personal estate as shall not at the time of my decease consist of money and with the monies arising from such sale and also the remainder of my said personal estate and effects I direct the said William Palmer Samuel Henton and George Mann my nephew or the survivor of them his executors or administrators

In the first place to pay unto John Clayton of Exhall in the County of Warwick Yeoman the sum of Ten Pounds Also unto my Servant Mary Jane Peake for her kind services to me during my illness the sum of Nineteen Pounds and nineteen shillings which I bequeath to them accordingly and which I will shall be paid to each of them within Six months after my decease by my Trustees and Executors

And as to the residue of my said personal estate and effects after payment of all my just debts the above legacies and my funeral and testamentary expences Then that my said Trustees William Palmer Samuel Henton and George Mann my Nephew or the Survivors or survivor of them his executor or administrator do and shall invest the remainder of my said personal estate and effects then converted into money on Real or Government Security in England in their or his names or name and pay the Interest dividends and annual produce thereof unto and to the use of and for the benefit support and maintenance of my Wife Elizabeth Mann for and during the term of her natural life by four quarterly payments that is to say the fifth day of April the twenty fifth day of June the Tenth day of October and the Twenty fourth day of December in every year the first payment thereof to be made on any of the said days which shall next happen after my decease and that such receipt or receipts for the said payments shall be such as may be approved of by the said William Palmer Samuel Henton and George Mann my nephew and the Survivors and Survivor of them his executor and administrator

And from and immediately after the death of my said Wife Then I give and bequeath In the first place the sum of Two hundred pounds unto my nephew the said George Mann absolutely

And I will and direct that the Interest of the residue of the said monies so directed to be invested as aforesaid I give and bequeath unto my said Brother William Mann and his Assigns for and during the Term of his natural life

And from and immediately after his decease Then I give and bequeath the whole of the said principal money then remaining together with the Interest due thereon Unto the seven children of my said Brother William Mann namely Mary the Wife of Thomas Henton of Ragdale Grazier my said Nephew George Mann Sarah Jane the Wife of Henry Henton of Ragdale aforesaid Grazier Eleanor Mann Elizabeth Mann William Mann and John Mann share and share alike

Provided always and I declare that my said Trustees hereby appointed and each and every of them their executors administrators and assigns shall be chargeable for such monies only as they shall respectively receive by virtue of the Trusts hereby in them reposed notwithstanding their giving or signing or joining in giving or signing any receipt or receipts for the sake of conformity and any one or more of them shall not be answerable or accountable for the others or other of them or for involuntary losses unless the same shall happen through their or his wilful neglect or default nor for the failure of any Banker or Broker in whose hands the same may have been placed for safe custody

And that it shall be lawful for them out of the monies which shall come to their respective hands by virtue of the trusts aforesaid to retain to and reimburse themselves respectively And also to allow their respective Co Trustees or Trustee all costs charges and expenses which they or any of them shall or may suffer sustain expend or be put unto in or about the execution of the aforesaid Trusts or in relation thereto

And I do hereby nominate and appoint the said William Palmer Samuel Henton and George Mann my nephew joint Executors in Trust of this my last Will and Testament hereby revoking all others by me made

In Witness whereof I the said George Mann the Testator have hereunto set my hand to this my last Will and Testament contained on Two sheets of paper this seventh day of February One thousand eight hundred and fifty

Signed published and declared by the said George Mann the Testator as and for his last Will and Testament in the presence of us who at his request in his presence and in the presence of each other have hereunto subscribed our names as Witnesses and that the word “William” at the end of the sixth line from the Top and the word “Independent” together with the word “Palmer” throughout the Will being first written on erasure and the word “Minister” also interlined in the presence of us

Proved at Leicester the Twenty fourth day of June 1868 by the Oaths of Samuel Henton and George Mann Nephew of the deceased (Son of his Brother William Mann) the surviving Executors to whom Administration was granted

The Testator George Mann was formerly of Edmondthorpe in the County of Leicester and late of Wymondham in the same County Grazier and died on the fifth day of January 1865 at Wymondham aforesaid
