Measures Lumley of Long Clawson 1785 Will

In the Name of God Amen I Measures Lumley of Long Clawson in the County of Leicester Gentleman Do make and Ordain this my last Will and Testament made when of Sound Mind and Memory whereby unto such Worldly Estate as it hath pleased God to bless me with I dispose thereof as follows

And First I Will that all my Just Debts Funeral expences and the expence of proving this my last Will and Testament may be duly paid by my Executor hereinafter named

I Give and Bequeath unto Elizabeth my Wife the Sum of One shilling

I Give and Bequeath unto Henry Lumley (Son of my Brother William Lumley) the Sum of Twenty Pounds and if the said Henry Lumley should Dye before the payment thereof then the said Sum of Twenty Pounds I Give and bequeath unto William Son of the said Henry Lumley

I Give unto Thomas and Measures Lumley and Francis the Son of my Nephew Francis Lumley (Sons and Grandson of my Brother Francis Lumley) Five Pounds each

I Give unto William Moore (son of my Sister Ann) Five Pounds

I Give unto Richard Thomas Henry and Mary Lumley (Sons and Daughter of my Brother Thomas Lumley) Five Pounds each

I Give unto Margarett Clifton (Daughter of my Sister Margarett) Five Pounds

I Give unto Elizabeth William Margarett and Ann (Son and Daughters of my Brother Edward Lumley) Five Pounds each

And my Will is that all the before mentioned Legacies shall be Paid (by my Executor herein after named at the expiration of One Year after my Decease) to each Legacee [sic] if they have then attained to the Age of Twenty one Years and if not then to be Paid to them as they Severally attain thereto

I Give and Demise unto my Nephew John Moore (Son of my Sister Margarett) his Heirs and Assigns for ever my Three Closes lying and being in the Lordship of Ashby Folville in the County of Leicester containing together about Twenty one Acres be the same more or less now in the Occupation or Tenure of Robert Pick

I also Give and bequeath the remainder and residue of all my Personal Estate Goods and Chattels whatsoever to my Nephew John Moore aforesaid whom I make and ordain full and Sole Executor of this my last Will and Testament And I do hereby revoke disannul and make void all former Wills and Testaments heretofore made by me

In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and Seal this sixth day of March In the Year of our Lord One Thousand Seven Hundred and eighty five

Signed Sealed Published and Declared by the said Measures Lumley the Testator as and for his last Will and Testament in the presence of us who at his request and in his presence and in the presence of each other subscribed our names as Witnesses
