Charles Lowe of Nether Broughton 1681 Will

In the Name of God amen upon the Ninth day of July in the yeare of our Lord 1681 I Charles Low of Neather Broughton in the County of Leicester webster being sicke & weake in body, but of good & perfect memory praised be God do make and ordaine this my last will & testament in manner and forme as followeth

First I bequeath my soule to Almighty God my maker & Redeemer in whom I trust to be saved, and my body to be buried in Neather Broughton Churchyard as my wife shall thinke fitting

It I give unto my son Charles Low all the Loomes & all the appurtenances belonging to both the shops

It I give unto my son Charles the Table and frame & forme & settles about it which stands in the house

It I give unto my said son Charles the halfe headed bed which standeth in the parlour with sufficient beding for it and the Lead in the kitchin & the ston Trough

It I give unto my son Charles the Cottage and all the appurtenances thereunto belonging (my wife injoying her Thirds out of itt)

It I give unto my said son the Land that I purchased of Andrew Smyth (my wife injoying her Thirds also) with this proviso That he pay unto my son Thomas Low the sum of Thirty pounds when the said Thomas shall accomplish the age of one & twenty yeares

And if my son Charles shall dye and my son Thomas also and leave no Issue Then my will is that Sara my wife shall enter possese and injoy That halfe oxgange of Land I bought with all the appurtenances for her selfe & for her heires for ever

And as for the rest of my goods unbequeathed I give unto Sara my wife shee paying my debts & funerall Charges and do hereby make her my Sole executrix of this my last will & testament

In witnesse hereof I have hereunto putt my hand & Seale the day & yeare above written
