This is the last Will and Testament of me Samuel Lovitt of Claxton otherwise Long Clawson in the County of Leicester Grazier

I give devise and Bequeath unto my Sister Susannah Charlesworth and her assigns for the term of her life from the day of my death an annuity or yearly sum of Ten Pounds of lawful money of the united Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland Free and clear of all taxes and other outgoings and deductions whatsoever to be issuing and payable out of all and every my messuages Lands Tenements Hereditaments and real estate situate and being at Claxton otherwise Long Clawson aforesaid and to be paid in equal portions on these four feast days in every year (to wit) the annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Saint John the Baptist Saint Michael the Archangel and the birth of our Lord Christ the first payment thereof to be made on such the said days as shall first and next happen after my death And I give unto my said Sister and her assigns such and the same power of enforcing and obtaining payment of the said annuity by distress and sale from time to time as often as any portion thereof shall be in arrear and unpaid by the space of thirty days next after any of the days whereon the same is hereinbefore appointed to be paid as aforesaid as Landlords have for the enforcing and obtaining payment of rent in arrears And my Will is that the provision hereinbefore made for my said sister is on condition that she leaves the House I live I immediately after my decease if she should be requested so to do by my Executor

I give and bequeath unto my Nephew Richard Lovitt the sum of one hundred pounds and my niece Ruth Fox the sum of one hundred pounds to be paid within twelve months next after my decease

I give to Ann Samuel Elizabeth Thomas Robert and Mary Lovitt Children of my late Brother William the sum of Ten Pounds a piece to be paid to them within twelve months after my decease

I give unto Mary the wife of Francis Norris, Monecay the wife of Thomas Kidger, Sarah the wife of Samuel Allcock and Robert Gibson the children of my said Sister Mary Gibson the sum of ten pounds a piece to be paid them within twelve months after my decease

And I do hereby subject and charge all my estate real and personal with the payment of the above legacies and of my debts and funeral expences and subject thereto and to the above annuity I give devise and bequeath of my Messuages Lands Tenements Hereditaments and real estate in Claxton otherwise Long Clawson aforesaid and all my Money Securities Goods chattels and Personal estate whatsoever and wheresoever unto my Brother Robert Lovitt To hold the same to him his Heirs executors administrators and assigns absolutely for ever

And I do hereby nominate and appoint my said Brother Robert Lovitt sole Executor of this my last Will and Testament hereby revokeing all former William by me at any time heretofore made

In Witness whereof I the said Samuel Lovitt the Testator have to this my last Will and Testament contained on two sheets of paper set my hand and seal (that is to say) to the first sheet hereof my hand and to the second and last sheet my hand and seal this nineteenth day of March in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and sixteen

Signed sealed published and declared by the said Samuel Lovitt the testator as and for his last Will and Testament in the presence of us who at his request in his presence and in the presence of each other have subscribed our names as Witnesses

Let a probat be granted to Robert Lovitt of Redmile in the County of Leicester Farmer sole Executor named in the will of Samuel Lovitt who died at Claxton otherwise Long Clawson on the 3d day of April 1820

He the said Robert Lovitt being duly sworn as well to the faithful execution of the Will as that the Testator’s Goods, Chattels, & credits as they were at his death, without deducting any Debt owing by him therefrom, did not amount in value to the sum of four hundred and fifty pounds
