Jane Lovett of Nether Broughton then Melton Mowbray 1896 Will

This is the last Will and Testament of me Jane Lovett of Nether Broughton in the County of Leicester Widow

I appoint my friend William Clarke of Upper Broughton in the County of Nottingham Grocer and Draper (who is hereinafter called “my Trustee”) to be the sole Executor and Trustee of this my Will

I forgive my Son John Lovett the debt of Two hundred pounds which he owes me or so much thereof as shall be owing at my death and all interest and arrears of interest thereon down to and including the day of my death And in case my said son shall die in my lifetime the same bequest shall take effect in favour of his Executors or administrators for the benefit of his estate And I direct my Trustee to cancel and deliver to my said son or to his executors or administrators as the case may be the note of hand by which the said sum of Two hundred Pounds and interest are secured

I give and bequeath all my personal estate and effects not hereby otherwise disposed of to my Trustee Upon trust to sell call in and convert the same into money or such part thereof as shall not consist of money and out of the moneys produced thereby and out of my ready money to pay my funeral and testamentary expenses and debts and to stand possessed of the net residue of the said moneys In trust for such one or more of my five daughters as shall be living at my decease to be divided between them if more than one as tenants in common in equal shares

This is a Codicil to the above written Will of me the above named Jane Lovett now of Melton Mowbray in the County of Leicester

I bequeath to my Daughter Ada Lovett absolutely all such articles of furniture and other household effects as shall be mentioned and confirmed in any memorandum signed by me and deposited with this my Will or left among my papers at my death And in all other respects I hereby confirm my said Will
